The Counter-Strike 2 scene just got a major shake-up. Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, the 19-year-old Russian AWPer, has officially joined Team Falcons, putting an end to all the theories on m0NESY to Falcons drama.
This move reunites him with former teammate Nikola “NiKo” Kovač and signals Falcons’ serious intent to dominate the CS2 landscape.
m0NESY to Falcons: A $2.5 Million Power Play
Falcons didn’t hold back, reportedly dropping a cool $2.5 million to secure m0NESY’s services. This deal comes hot after the Falcons’ victory at PGL Bucharest 2025, where they clinched their first CS2 trophy.
Interestingly, m0NESY replaces Abdul “degster” Gasanov, who was benched despite earning the MVP award at that very tournament.
m0NESY Reuniting with NiKo
This transfer isn’t just about big bucks; it’s about reuniting a dynamic duo. m0NESY and NiKo previously played together on G2.
Their synergy was undeniable, and fans are eager to see if they can replicate their past achievements under the Falcons banner.
m0NESY to Falcons: Strategic Timing
G2’s decision to sell m0NESY wasn’t just about the money. With his contract set to expire at the end of 2025, G2 faced the risk of losing him for free.
By transferring him now, they not only secure a substantial fee but also have time to rebuild their roster for the upcoming season. It’s a calculated move, albeit a bittersweet one for G2 fans.
Community Reactions
The CS2 community is abuzz with reactions. On Reddit, fans express a mix of excitement and skepticism. Some are thrilled about the reunion of m0NESY and NiKo, while others question the decision to bench degster after his MVP performance.
Regardless, the consensus is clear: Falcons are making waves, and all eyes will be on their performance in the coming tournaments.
m0NESY to Falcons: Looking Ahead
With this move, Falcons go from dark horses to outright contenders. The expectations are now higher than NiKo’s headshot percentage. They’ve got a stacked roster, a legendary coach in zonic, and a proven IGL system.
Their next big test is IEM Melbourne 2025—where m0NESY is set to debut. If he clicks with the squad, other top teams better get used to seeing Falcons deep in every bracket.
What’s Next for G2?
Meanwhile, G2 isn’t just crying into their jerseys. They’ve acted fast and picked up Aleksander “hades” Miskiewicz on loan from ENCE. The Polish AWPer is no stranger to high-level play, and while he’s stepping into big shoes, hades bring stability, experience, and solid clutch potential. It’s a band-aid solution, sure, but it gives G2 time to reassess without falling apart before the Major.
This short-term plan might just save their season. If hades delivers even 80% of m0NESY’s impact, G2 can still be a dangerous force—and who knows, maybe this turns into a full-time deal if the chemistry clicks.
Final Round Thoughts
The transfer of m0NESY to Falcons isn’t just another roster shuffle. It’s a huge shift in the CS2 scene. With the Falcons going full Avengers mode and G2 pivoting on the fly, we’re in for a wild ride through the 2025 season. Expect highlight reels, spicy interviews, and more drama than a Twitch chat during a tech pause.
So, get your snacks, update your Pick’Ems, and stay locked in—because the m0NESY-Falcons era is about to drop 30 on everyone.
