Lords of the Fallen is a very difficult game to play, especially if you are not used to this genre. For this reason, therefore, in this article, we have decided to explain in detail how to defeat the Lords of the Fallen first boss.
Before continuing, we would like to point out that, technically, Pieta is not the first boss you will face. At the beginning of the game, there will be a tutorial boss that you will have to defeat. However, since it is a tutorial boss that is used to learn the game mechanics, we can consider Pieta as the true Lords of the Fallen first boss.
Lords of the Fallen first boss: How to beat Pieta
Defeating this boss may not be so easy, especially if you don’t follow a strategy. Like most soulslike bosses, the Lords of the Fallen first boss also consists of two phases. Consequently, to be able to defeat this boss, you will have to adapt your gameplay during the battle.
During the first phase, Pieta will mainly make use of attacks linked to her enormous sword. These attacks will actually be quite simple to dodge and/or parry if you learn the right timing. In the event that the Lords of the Fallen first boss performs a swing combo, this will be the right time to attack her, as she will have a cooldown period before resuming the fight.
Pay attention to the attack where she will create a beam of light, as if hit, she will deal a lot of damage to you. However, this attack is not difficult to dodge. Finally, also pay attention to an attack with which she will try to hit you by throwing swords at you from the sky; or when she uses the jump attack to get closer to you. In both cases, with a little practice, you will have no problem dodging them.
As regards the second phase, however, things get a little more complicated. In fact, now the Lords of the Fallen first boss will be able to make use of other moves. In addition to those we have already indicated, Pieta will also summon specters that will help her. Be careful of them, as they could take you by surprise, even if their attacks are very similar to those seen in the first phase of the battle.
Also, pay attention to the fact that Pieta will now be able to fly quickly around the arena, releasing a trail of falling swords from the sky. Simply avoid this attack by placing yourself in a position you are sure the boss will not reach. Finally, also pay attention to the grab attack she uses, as she will be able to kill you if you don’t have a full health bar.
