The London representatives of the Call of Duty League, London Royal Ravens, won four games and lost one to secure themselves the second spot in the CDL 2022 Major 1 Qualifiers.
Before the 2022 Call of Duty League season, most of us had thoughts about power rankings and which team could lift the trophy this year. However, things didn’t go as planned and we saw many surprising performances from various teams. One of these teams is the London Royal Ravens. The organization showed unexpectedly great performances to secure the second spot in the standings.
London Royal Ravens CDL 2022 Major 1 Qualifiers Roster
- Marcus “Afro” Reid
- Joey “Gismo” Owen
- Byron “Nastie” Plumridge
- Trei “Zer0” Morris
- James “Dominate” Batz (Head Coach)
To be fair, their roster isn’t the best on paper, compared to other teams. However, the chemistry this lineup puts is on another level for sure. Afro is a great player but at first, it was a questionable decision to build a roster around him. The English talent showed his capabilities and gave everyone a lesson not to question his abilities and leadership.
London Royal Ravens’ CDL 2022 journey started with a clean sweep over Florida Mutineers. Moreover, the London team managed to pick up an important win against one of CDL’s most powerful teams, OpTic Texas. Minnesota ROKKR was the next on the menu for the Ravens. However, they got their first loss after winning three games in a row. Los Angeles Guerrillas managed to stop the European team’s march. Lastly, LRR secured another win against Seattle Surge to close out the qualifiers stage for themselves.
The only team above London Royal Ravens is Atlanta FaZe, the only undefeated team in the league. According to the format, LRR will play against Los Angeles Guerrillas in the opening round of the championship. They were the only team that could beat LRR this season and it will be an interesting matchup for sure.
