LoL patch 14.20 celebrates the 15th anniversary of League of Legends with its Player Days side content, alongside the regular game updates.
It follows up on the enormous item changes from patch 14.19, with additional tweaks to adjust balance. Additionally, the patch also adjusts many champions and a couple of runes to compensate for the item changes.
It also brings the ASU visual overhaul for Teemo. Further, the dev team adjusts ready check penalties to be less punishing.
We’ve got a lot to work through, so let’s get going.

LoL patch 14.20 champion changes
LoL patch 14.20 brings the following buffs:
- Aphelios has higher base HP and gets more bonus AD from his passive
- Caitlyn gets a higher attack speed ratio and her Q deals more damage to secondary targets than before
- Corki gets an AD damage ratio on his W, and his Q and E cost less mana
- Lee Sin has a higher base AD
- Pantheon gets more damage on his W
- Riven gets more damage on her Q
- Tristana gets more range on her E and R
- Tryndamere has a better attack speed ratio, and he has a higher armor growth
- Yasuo gets more damage on crits with his Q. He also gets better armor penetration for his Q from his R
- Yone deals more crit damage on his Q
Meanwhile, nerfs come down on these champions:
- Dr. Mundo gets a worse health ratio for the bonus AD on his E
- Jhin has a worse AD growth rate, and his R does less damage at higher ranks
- Mordekaiser takes a nerf to the single-target damage bonus on his Q
- Poppy has a longer cooldown on her shield passive. In addition, her Q’s monster damage and her E’s damage is lower
- Shyvana gets a worse AP ratio on her W and R, and her R-E does less burn damage
- Singed has worse Armor growth
- Skarner loses damage on his passive and his E
- Udyr gets less movement speed from his E. The bonus damage to monsters from his Awakened Q and Awakened R is also worse
- Veigar loses damageon his W
Finally, Nilah gets some general adjustments. Her E now has an instant cast time. However in a follow-up hotfix patch, she loses base damage on her E, weakening her E-max builds for lane. Her ultimate also takes hits to its damage in all states.

Items, runes, and other system changes
Patch 14.20 brings some tweaks to items as well.
For Marksman items:
- Essence Reaver changes the BF Sword in its recipe to a Pickaxe, with corresponding cheaper overall gold price. It grants 5 less AD and 5 less Haste
- Similarly The Collector changes its BF Sword to a Pickaxe, and its overall price is lower. It loses 10 AD
- Statikk Shiv grants less attack speed
- Yun Tal Wildarrows changes its recipe entirely to a Pickaxe and Noonquiver, bringing down its cost from 3200 to 2950. It does 5 less AD and its bleed damage is down from 70 to 60
Meanwhile, mage items are the other priority of this patch:
- Fated Ashes gets a nerf to its damage-per-second against monsters
- Liandry’s Torment carries over the monster nerf, lowering its damage cap from 50 to 40
- Luden’s Companion loses burst damage. It gets a buff to its initial charge, but its follow-up charges deals only 20% of initial damage (down from 50%). Further, its maximum single-target damage gets a large nerf
- Stormsurge grants 5 less AP and its Squall damage is worse
- Thornmail grants 5 less armor. Its Thorns damage has a higher base, but its armor ratio damage is worse
For rune changes, many runes get QoL updates to their readability and end-of-game stats.
- Phase Rush has a higher minimum but lower maximum for its movement speed granted to ranged champions
- Grasp of the Undying changes its healing and Max Health stacking to disincentivize non-tanks from taking the rune
- Nimbus Cloak grants more movement speed on summoner spell cast
Finally, to kick off celebrations for the 15th anniversary of League of Legends, we get the following skins:
