LoL patch 14.10 brings massive sweeping changes for the start of the new League of Legends ranked split, including the soft Corki rework.
First, Legends of Runeterra now has a launch option in the League of Legends client. Any fans of the world of Runeterra might want to check out the card game.
Second, champion mastery now has no cap. Players can continue to level up and show off their dedication to specific picks.
Split 2 of the Ranked system also begins on May 15 at noon, local time. For a short period, account transfers will be unavailable during the split change. There are also some changes to the placements and demotion protection.
Notably, there will be some significant changes to EXP and gold. Monsters and shared minion EXP now gives more EXP, helping out the bot lane duo and junglers from falling too far behind in the mid-game compared to solo laners. In compensation, however, the shared experience from champion kill assists is lower, as is the kill streak gold.
Beyond that though, there is a huge number of gameplay changes.

LoL patch 14.10 champion changes
While there are few champion changes compared to last patch, there were many tweaks to summoner spells and runes, as well as an enormous rework of items.
Corki dominates the champion changes. The goal is to shift him away from mid lane and magic damage entirely to push him into the AD Carry role.
The new patch removes his Package, and his passive now converts part of his damage to True Damage instead of Magic Damage. Additionally, all of his abilities have received buffs in compensation, as well as converting fully to AD scaling and AD damage.
Meanwhile, for other champion changes:
- Cho’Gath received a buff to help his laning and jungling. His E now has a flat higher damage cap against monsters, and no damage cap against minions.
- Perennial pro play power pick K’Sante receives some help for his lane, with base health growth and health regeneration growth. His E also gives more flat shields per level-up.
- Sett gets some help in the jungle. His E now deals more damage to monsters.
- Skarner received many tweaks. His Q does less damage, costs less mana, but does full damage to structures. His E damage is lower. Finally, his R has a faster cast time, and Skarner is no longer unstoppable during its cast, although he can queue abilities during the cast.
- Tryndamere has a higher crit chance from his Passive, up to 50% from 40%.
- Viego‘s Q has higher healing against minions.
- Yasuo and Yone got their passives changed to account for the changes to crit items. Their critical strike chance multiplier is lower, but their bonus AD for excess crit chance is higher.

Summoner Spell, Runes and other changes
For Summoner Spell changes:
- Ghost has a longer cooldown (210 -> 240 seconds) and shorter duration (15 -> 10 seconds)
- Cleanse has a longer cooldown (210s -> 240s) and greats more tenacity (65% -> 75%)
- Exhaust has a longer cooldown (210s ->240s) and it slows more (30% -> 40%)
- Barrier now lasts longer (2s -> 2.5s) and shields more
- Heal receives a tweak to its range to make it easier to aim
Further, patch 14.10 brings a large number of rune changes to LoL:
- Predator, Ingenious Hunter, Lethal Tempo, Overheal, Legend: Tenacity, Future’s Market and Minion Dematerializer have been removed
- Hail of Blades gives less attack speed for ranged champions
- Sudden Impact now does extra true damage instead of extra pen stats
- Relentless Hunter gives no base movement speed without stacks
- Press the Attack is now not a target-specific debuff. Instead, it grants extra damage to its wielder after hitting an enemy champion with three consecutive attacks until they leave combat
- Absorb Life is a new Precision rune which grants health on killing a target
- Legend: Haste is a new Precision rune which grants ability haste
- Cut Down now does flat 8% extra damage to any champion above 60% maximum health
- Fleet Footwork now heals less but grants more movement speed
- Font of Life now immediately heals the wielder and a nearby ally on crowd-controlling an enemy champion, on a cooldown
- Cash Back is a new Inspiration rune which grants 6% gold back on purchasing a Legendary item
- Jack of All Trades is a new Inspiration rune which grants extra Ability Haste and later Adaptive Force based on how many unique stats on items purchased
- Time Warp Tonic does not reduce the healing of potions and gives more instant health on consumption, but no longer grants movement speed on potion use
- First Strike gives more flat gold but less scaling gold based on damage done, as well as a slightly higher damage amp
The item changes are sizable enough that they deserve their own article.
Finally, for new skins, the Faerie Court skin line gets new members and a new Victorious skin appears with:
- Faerie Court Lux
- Faerie Court Soraka
- Faerie Court Lillia
- Faerie Court Tristana
- Victorious Kog’Maw
