Playable Demo Now Live for Meta Quest and Steam VR
Indie studio Lofty Sky Entertainment is bringing something different to the show floor at PAX East this year: peace. The award-winning creators behind Shuyan Saga and Eternal Spring have unveiled the first playable demo of their upcoming title Verse VR, now available to wishlist on both Meta Quest and Steam VR.
Located at Booth #16105, Lofty Sky invites attendees to explore a poetic, interactive VR experience that blends spoken word, cultural artistry, and immersive world design. Developed in collaboration with Interactive Ontario and multiple cultural organizations, Verse VR transports players through eight stylized environments inspired by global traditions—each paired with original poetry, music, and visuals.
Whether you’re wandering a lush West African village, reflecting in a tranquil Chinese garden, or absorbing the ethereal prose of The Prophet by Khalil Gibran, Verse VR offers a serene counterpoint to traditional VR fare. Each world in the game is built as a personal, meditative experience.
A Global Cast of Artists Brings Verse VR to Life
Featuring over two dozen spoken word performances and classical music from global artists, Verse VR delivers an emotional and cultural tapestry unlike any other VR experience. Among the notable contributors are griots Sadio Sissokho and Aïcha Sylla, dizi master Lipeng Wu, and erhu virtuoso Amely Zhou. The Deluxe Edition of the game features 39 unique performances, enhanced with 17 musical tracks and original line-drawn animations.
“We wanted to create a space in VR that feels like an emotional retreat—somewhere you can slow down, connect with poetry, and appreciate the beauty of different cultures,” said Judith Cheung, Creative Director at Lofty Sky.
Beyond Verse VR: New Projects from Lofty Sky
In addition to Verse VR, Lofty Sky is showcasing a new demo of its sci-fi “anti-RPG” Sky of Tides, alongside a new trailer for the companion animated series Sky of Tides: ATLA. Attendees can also sign up for early access to a currently unannounced mystery project.
As covered by Gamelevate, Verse VR is part of a growing wave of experiential games redefining the boundaries of virtual storytelling and cultural expression.
Verse VR is scheduled to launch this summer. Visitors can experience the game firsthand at PAX East Booth #16105, and wishlist it now on Meta Quest and Steam VR.

. ## Defend Shady Hill From a Zombie Invasion *Dead Party* takes place in Shady Hill, a seemingly peaceful town where a Halloween night takes a disastrous turn after UFOs appear overhead. The strange event triggers a zombie outbreak, leaving four unlikely heroes to defend the neighborhood against the undead invasion. The game focuses on cooperative survival rather than simply eliminating enemies. Players must search their surroundings for resources, break objects to gather materials, construct barricades, and set traps to slow incoming waves. Different zombie types and map layouts will require teams to adapt their defenses as the invasion progresses. Players must coordinate their actions and make effective use of the resources available if they hope to survive. Music also plays a central role in combat. Characters can use guitars and music-based abilities to push back the undead, giving the game a rock-and-roll twist on the familiar zombie survival formula. ## Four Game Modes Offer Different Survival Challenges *Dead Party* features four distinct game modes, each presenting a different approach to defending against the zombie invasion. - **Stage Equipment:** Use stage equipment and music-powered abilities to hold back the undead. - **Antenna:** Activate generators and unleash radio waves to disrupt the invading forces. - **Skull Cannon:** Collect zombie skulls and use them to destroy UFOs. - **Horde:** Forget about escaping and see how long your team can survive against increasingly dangerous zombie waves. Players can also experience the game's Story Mode, which follows four unique characters. Each hero has individual abilities, strengths, weaknesses, equipment, and a personal storyline, giving players different approaches to the game's challenges. ## Online and Local Co-Op Support Designed around four-player cooperation, *Dead Party* supports both online and local co-op. Friends can coordinate defensive strategies, collect resources, and build barricades together as they attempt to withstand the invasion. The combination of environmental interactions, traps, different enemy types, and music-based combat is intended to keep each encounter unpredictable. Teams will need to balance preparation with quick decisions when their defenses begin to fail. With its Halloween-themed setting and cooperative gameplay, *Dead Party* is aiming to offer a different take on zombie survival when it arrives later this month. The game launches on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store on October 29, 2026, with console releases expected in the weeks following its debut.
