Indie developers Immeta Studios and PlayWay S.A. have announced that the free prologue for Life & Shadow: Celestial Call will launch on July 10, giving players an early look at the upcoming psychological cosmic horror game ahead of its full release.
Available on Steam, the prologue introduces players to the game’s unique blend of survival mechanics, life simulation, and supernatural horror, offering a substantial preview of the full experience.
A psychological horror experience set inside a mysterious observatory
In Life & Shadow: Celestial Call, players find themselves trapped inside the isolated observatory of a star-obsessed professor atop Mount Clearveil.
The game follows a day-and-night gameplay loop that challenges players to prepare for survival during daylight hours before facing terrifying events after dark. As night falls, the observatory’s basement becomes increasingly dangerous, forcing players to uncover hidden secrets while attempting to stop a mysterious ritual.
Throughout the story, players must investigate the observatory, manage limited resources, and piece together the truth behind the professor’s research and the strange cosmic forces surrounding Mount Clearveil.
Manage the observatory by day
During the daytime, players are responsible for keeping the observatory operational while preparing for the dangers that emerge each night.
Daily activities include:
- Managing the observatory
- Completing routine tasks
- Maintaining the facility’s power supply
- Gathering resources for survival
Every decision made during the day can affect your chances of surviving the horrors that await after sunset.
Explore the darkness at night
Once night arrives, the tone shifts dramatically as players descend into the observatory’s basement to investigate disturbing supernatural phenomena.
The game combines exploration, environmental storytelling, and psychological horror, with mysterious entities and unsettling discoveries waiting beneath the surface.
As the investigation unfolds, players will gradually uncover the secrets behind the ritual and the true nature of the observatory.
Free Steam prologue arrives July 10
The free prologue launches on July 10 and serves as an introduction to the game’s mechanics, story, and atmosphere before the full release.
Players interested in trying Life & Shadow: Celestial Call can download the prologue through Steam once it becomes available.

. ## Defend Shady Hill From a Zombie Invasion *Dead Party* takes place in Shady Hill, a seemingly peaceful town where a Halloween night takes a disastrous turn after UFOs appear overhead. The strange event triggers a zombie outbreak, leaving four unlikely heroes to defend the neighborhood against the undead invasion. The game focuses on cooperative survival rather than simply eliminating enemies. Players must search their surroundings for resources, break objects to gather materials, construct barricades, and set traps to slow incoming waves. Different zombie types and map layouts will require teams to adapt their defenses as the invasion progresses. Players must coordinate their actions and make effective use of the resources available if they hope to survive. Music also plays a central role in combat. Characters can use guitars and music-based abilities to push back the undead, giving the game a rock-and-roll twist on the familiar zombie survival formula. ## Four Game Modes Offer Different Survival Challenges *Dead Party* features four distinct game modes, each presenting a different approach to defending against the zombie invasion. - **Stage Equipment:** Use stage equipment and music-powered abilities to hold back the undead. - **Antenna:** Activate generators and unleash radio waves to disrupt the invading forces. - **Skull Cannon:** Collect zombie skulls and use them to destroy UFOs. - **Horde:** Forget about escaping and see how long your team can survive against increasingly dangerous zombie waves. Players can also experience the game's Story Mode, which follows four unique characters. Each hero has individual abilities, strengths, weaknesses, equipment, and a personal storyline, giving players different approaches to the game's challenges. ## Online and Local Co-Op Support Designed around four-player cooperation, *Dead Party* supports both online and local co-op. Friends can coordinate defensive strategies, collect resources, and build barricades together as they attempt to withstand the invasion. The combination of environmental interactions, traps, different enemy types, and music-based combat is intended to keep each encounter unpredictable. Teams will need to balance preparation with quick decisions when their defenses begin to fail. With its Halloween-themed setting and cooperative gameplay, *Dead Party* is aiming to offer a different take on zombie survival when it arrives later this month. The game launches on PC through Steam and the Epic Games Store on October 29, 2026, with console releases expected in the weeks following its debut.
