Doran’s Ambessa references the Krug Lord meme
After fans overwhelmingly voted for Ambessa during Riot’s skin poll, Doran worked closely with the developers to create a champion that felt powerful and imposing. He requested a lion-inspired hairstyle, darker armor, and striking red accents across Ambessa’s weapons.
One of the funniest references appears during her recall animation. Ambessa pulls Doran’s Blade, Doran’s Shield, and Doran’s Ring from the Summoner’s Cup before charging into battle while a lone Krug watches nearby.
That Krug is a nod to Doran’s long-running “Krug Lord” meme within the League community. Riot managed to include the joke without taking away from the skin’s heroic fantasy.
The developers also added elegant shoulder wings to better match the Ascended Warriors theme. An earlier version even included Doran’s face during his ultimate animation, although that detail was removed following player feedback.
Oner’s Xin Zhao helped define the collection
Oner kept his requests relatively straightforward when designing his Worlds skin.
He wanted Xin Zhao to wear a jacket draped over his shoulders instead of a traditional cape, inspired by how Oner often wears his team jacket on stage. He also requested bright red weapons to represent T1’s signature colors.
Rather than using a standard cape, Riot designed a flowing jacket silhouette that moves dynamically during combat.
Xin Zhao’s recall animation also pays tribute to Oner’s championship career by recreating animations from Lee Sin, Poppy, and Pantheon, three champions closely associated with his Worlds victories. During development, Oner also asked for the iconic T1 team jacket to appear at the end of the recall, giving the sequence an even more personal touch.
Faker’s Galio celebrates six World Championships
After years of fan requests, Faker finally received a Galio Worlds skin.
To strengthen its connection to T1, Riot completely redesigned Galio’s wings so their shape resembles the team’s logo, requiring new animations specifically for the skin.
The recall animation features six stars orbiting Galio before he ascends into the sky, symbolizing Faker’s six World Championship victories. The sequence concludes with the T1 logo appearing beneath him.
Faker reportedly suggested expanding the space backdrop even further, but Riot scaled it back to maintain gameplay clarity.
Several additional references are hidden throughout the skin. Galio’s Q incorporates the Summoner’s Cup into its visual effects, while his taunt recreates Faker’s iconic “shush” gesture—a celebration fans have seen multiple times throughout his legendary career.
The skin also marks Faker’s tenth skin in League of Legends.
Gumayusi’s Yunara tells a personal story
Gumayusi selected Yunara partly because the champion’s designer commented that her gameplay had been heavily inspired by his own playstyle.
He wanted the skin to emphasize Yunara’s softer appearance, requesting a twin-bun hairstyle inspired by the popular Korean character Pucca alongside a more fashionable overall design.
Riot expanded on those ideas by adding detailed patterns throughout her outfit to give the champion more visual depth.
One hidden easter egg appears inside Yunara’s floating orb, where T1 mascot Ati can be seen in different colors.
The recall animation tells Gumayusi’s personal journey. Yunara begins peacefully meditating before facing hardship and uncertainty, eventually finding hope through a butterfly and a beam of light.
The butterfly itself references Worlds 2025, where one appeared on stage and became a memorable symbol of good fortune during T1’s championship run.
Keria’s Seraphine recreates his Worlds celebration
Keria envisioned a skin focused on elegance rather than intimidation.
He asked Riot to make Seraphine feel cute and beautiful while redesigning her signature cheek marking into a stylized “K” inspired by his own initial.
The final design features organically animated wings and a hairstyle reflecting Keria’s personal preferences.
Its biggest highlight is the recall animation, which recreates Keria’s emotional on-stage celebration after T1 defeated Anyone’s Legend in Game 5 of the Worlds 2025 Final.
The animation even includes close-up shots and the moment he removes his T1 jacket, closely mirroring the real celebration. Riot artists reportedly hand-drew between 12 and 16 frames of animation to make the sequence feel more expressive than a standard recall.
Prestige Miss Fortune is packed with Gumayusi references
As the Worlds 2025 Finals MVP, Gumayusi wanted his Prestige Miss Fortune skin to feel unlike any previous Worlds cosmetic.
One of its standout features is three interchangeable weapon sets representing his three World Championship victories. The guns change whenever Miss Fortune casts her ultimate.
The ultimate also triggers a flowing hairstyle while dramatically enhancing the skin’s visual effects, another request made during development.
Numerous references are hidden throughout the skin, including nods to Gumayusi’s popular memes, his famous Baron steal, and other memorable moments from his competitive career.
The recall animation showcases several iconic plays, including:
- Dodging Kalista spears against Weibo Gaming.
- Avoiding Ashe arrows versus Bilibili Gaming.
- Shooting down Ziggs bombs against KT Rolster.
- Finishing by lifting the Worlds MVP trophy.
Together, these scenes tell the story of Gumayusi’s rise from promising ADC to one of League of Legends’ greatest world champions.
