Ukrainian indie studio RetroStyle Games is launching its chaotic co-op horror comedy Last Pirates: Die Together in Steam Early Access on August 18, 2026.
RetroStyle Games is bringing Last Pirates: Die Together to Steam Early Access on Aug. 18, 2026, following a successful demo that attracted more than 300,000 players and nearly 200,000 wishlists.
The game combines pirate-themed horror with physics-based comedy, challenging crews of up to four players to work together, collect treasure, and escape haunted locations alive.
A Pirate Adventure Built on Chaos
Last Pirates: Die Together is a 1-4 player online co-op horror comedy centered around teamwork, exploration, and unpredictable physics.
Players take on the roles of cursed pirates searching for treasure in haunted locations. The goal is simple: collect as much gold as possible, survive encounters with monsters, and make sure at least one crewmate escapes.
The catch is that every player has ridiculously stretchy arms. The same mechanic that can help the crew reach distant objects, pull teammates to safety, or move treasure can also send friends flying into danger.
The result is a cooperative experience where communication and teamwork can quickly turn into complete chaos.
What’s New in Early Access?
The Early Access release significantly expands on the original demo with new locations, enemies, activities, physics systems, and quality-of-life features.
Two New Chapters
The Early Access version introduces two handcrafted chapters:
- The Ship features its own layout, loot, and dangers.
- The Castle offers another haunted location with unique threats and environments.
Each chapter is designed to give crews new spaces to explore and new challenges to overcome.
Six New Monsters
Players will also encounter six new monsters, each bringing different threats to the crew.
These include the Snake, Parrot, Sleeper, Ear, Anchorman, and Crab, alongside reworked swarm Rats. The Parrot can shriek to summon a horde, while the blind Ear hunts players based on sound.
The Mimic has also received a particularly unsettling upgrade: it can now speak using the players’ own voices.
More Ways to Cause Chaos
The Early Access release expands the game’s sandbox with a variety of interactive activities and objects.
Players can try their luck at blackjack and slot machines, relax in a jacuzzi, play air hockey, use a trampoline, perform mast parkour, or pick up instruments including the piano, flute, and guitar.
The physics system has also been overhauled. Large objects can now be smashed apart and hauled out piece by piece, while new elevators, funiculars, and redesigned cart physics add more opportunities for creative problem-solving and accidental disasters.
RetroStyle Games has also completed a lighting and visual overhaul and added new character skins.
The update includes Steam Rich Presence, an invite system, and a built-in Streamer Mode, making it easier for players and content creators to jump into the game together.
