G2 Esports have announced that they have parted ways with awp phenom Kenny “kennyS” Schrub
The last time kennyS actively played for G2 was at Intel Extreme Masters XIV- World Championships in 2020. After a disappointing 3-0 finals result against a strong opponent, NaVi, kennyS had decided to take a break from competition and become an inactive player on the roster. After a long inactive period on the roster, G2 kennyS decided to leave the team. It is clear from the tweets and interactions between the team and the organization that this was a mutual decision. Recently, G2 announced kennyS’ departure from the team with a tweet.

Kenny “kennyS” Schrub is an incredibly talented CS:GO player. Earlier in his career, he made his fame with his flashy and aggressive AWP plays and quickly became a well-known name in the CS:GO circles. Before joining G2, kennyS had 5 S-tier tournament victories with Team EnvyUs including DreamHack Open Cluj-Napoca 2015. This was one of the most prestigious tournaments at the time and he was named the MVP of the tournament. However, his run did not stop there, he went on to take 1st place and MVP award in tournaments such as Esports Heaven: Birmingham, DreamHack 2014 Invitational II, IOS Pantamera, and DreamHack Open London 2015… Therefore, he came to G2 as a star, and although he couldn’t win the IEM XIV with G2 in 2020, the AWP lord had a successful run with the team winning ESL Pro League Summer Season 5 Finals, DreamHack Masters Malmö 2017, Champions Cup Finals under G2 Esports banner. Meanwhile, kennyS was also named MVP in these events wearing the G2 jersey.
