The German player Kaiser will continue to chase the trophies as a member MAD Lions, the latest LEC Champions.

MAD Lions made their first roster move after finishing the LEC Summer 2021 season, extending the contract of one of the core members of the roster, Norman “Kaiser” Kaiser until 2023. The team unveiled the news with a video clip, in which Kaiser’s in-game plays are highlighted with the tagline of “Let’s keep making history”.

According to the League of Legends Global Contract Database, there is only one player in MAD Lions who needs an extension. The squad’s ADC, Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság, whose contract will end on November 15, 2021, right after Worlds 2021.

The project continues… ✍️

Kaiser’s professional career started in 2018 with mousesports, competing in Minor tournaments and European Masters. It didn’t take too long for the talented player to be noticed by the LEC teams. Following a decent season in 2019, MAD Lions added him to their roster. Kaiser and his rookie friends displayed a great performance throughout their first season and finished as 3rd and 4th place consecutively in LEC 2020 seasons.

In the following season, Kaiser and Carzzy found an outstanding synergy in the bottom lane, leading their team to success. The 22-year-old support player came to the forefront playing tank support champions mostly. He was so good at creating positions for his teammates to take kills, giving him a spot amongst the best players in his role.

My time on the analyst desk reminded me of how grateful I am to be part of the @LEC – so many great & hardworking people that all work together to create something so special. Big thanks to @sjokz and @DanielDrakos for guiding me through today you guys are smurfers! pic.twitter.com/45jaH48HlX

MAD Lions had an unexpectedly amazing 2021. The organization’s journey in LEC began in 2020, after rebranding Splyce as MAD Lions. They took a huge risk in establishing a roster that contains four rookie players – Andrei “Orome” Popa, Zhiqiang “Shadow” Zhao, Carzzy, and Kaiser – but they collected the benefits of it within a short time. In 2021, MAD acquired İrfan “Armut” Tükek and Javier “Elyoya” Batalla releasing Orome and Shadow, which led them to win both LEC Spring 2021 and LEC Summer 2021.

MAD Lions will represent Europe in Worlds 2021 as the first seed in October.
