K/DA may be preparing for a long-awaited return to the League of Legends music scene, as a newly registered song has brought together several high-profile songwriters with strong connections to pop and K-pop.
A new League of Legends song titled WATCH ME has been registered with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), with K/DA listed as the performers.
The registration does not include a release date or confirm that Riot Games is currently preparing a new K/DA project. However, the names attached to the song have already sparked plenty of interest among League of Legends fans.
Who worked on K/DA’s WATCH ME?
The ASCAP registration lists Nija Aisha-Alayja Charles, Felicia Ferraro, Sebastien Najand, Ali Tamposi, and Federico Vindver as songwriters.
Several of these writers have worked on major pop and K-pop releases, while others have direct connections to Riot Games’ music projects.
Nija Charles, who also works professionally as Amnija, has built an impressive songwriting catalog spanning pop, R&B, and hip-hop. Her credits include Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s “Rain on Me,” Ariana Grande’s “Positions,” and Beyoncé’s “Water.” She has also worked with artists such as Beyoncé, Jay-Z, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and Drake.
Her involvement would make sense for K/DA, particularly given the group’s blend of Western pop and K-pop influences.
Felicia “Feli” Ferraro also has considerable experience in the K-pop and pop music scenes. Her songwriting credits include BTS’ “Run BTS” and Coi Leray’s “Players.” She has also worked on songs involving David Guetta, Anne-Marie, Normani, and Chris Brown.
Her background in both K-pop and Western pop makes her another notable addition to the potential K/DA project.
Sebastien Najand’s K/DA connection
Perhaps the most recognizable name for League of Legends fans is Sebastien Najand, who has been closely involved with Riot Games’ music projects for years.
Najand has songwriting and production credits on several major League of Legends songs, including K/DA’s “POP/STARS” and “THE BADDEST.” His wider work with Riot’s musical universe includes projects such as “RISE,” “GODS,” “Legends Never Die,” and music connected to HEARTSTEEL.
He currently serves as a Principal Composer at Riot Games and has also contributed extensively to the Arcane soundtrack as a composer, producer, and mixing engineer.
His involvement in WATCH ME is therefore particularly noteworthy. If the song is eventually released as a K/DA track, it would reunite one of the group’s established creative contributors with a new team of high-profile pop songwriters.
More major pop names behind WATCH ME
Ali Tamposi is another songwriter with an extensive pop catalog. She has co-written major hits including Camila Cabello’s “Havana” and “Señorita,” 5 Seconds of Summer’s “Youngblood,” DJ Snake and Justin Bieber’s “Let Me Love You,” and Selena Gomez and Marshmello’s “Wolves.”
Her credits also include Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You).”
Tamposi has also worked in the modern K-pop and global pop space. She is credited alongside Federico Vindver on KATSEYE’s “My Way,” providing another connection between the songwriting team behind WATCH ME and the current global pop scene.
Vindver himself has an equally broad catalog. He is credited as a songwriter and producer on Meghan Trainor’s “Made You Look” and co-wrote Coldplay’s “Higher Power” alongside members of the band, Max Martin, and Denise Carite.
Taken together, the songwriting lineup combines major Western pop experience, K-pop expertise, and direct knowledge of Riot Games’ musical projects.
K/DA has been quiet since 2020
If WATCH ME is eventually released, it would mark K/DA’s first major new song in roughly six years.
K/DA originally debuted in 2018 with “POP/STARS,” which became one of Riot Games’ biggest musical successes and established the group as one of gaming’s most recognizable virtual music acts.
The group returned in 2020 with the ALL OUT EP, featuring tracks such as “THE BADDEST” and “MORE.”
Since then, K/DA has remained largely inactive, leaving fans wondering when—or if—the group would return.
K/DA and HEARTSTEEL leaks add to the speculation
The WATCH ME registration comes amid reports of additional K/DA and HEARTSTEEL content potentially arriving during League of Legends Season 3 in 2026.
According to circulating leaks, a new K/DA FIRESTARTER lineup could feature Ahri, Akali, Evelynn, and Kai’Sa. HEARTSTEEL is also reportedly set to receive another batch of skins featuring Aphelios, Ezreal, Kayn, K’Sante, Sett, and Yone.
These reports have not been officially confirmed by Riot Games, so they should be treated as speculation for now. However, the possibility of new skins for both virtual groups has added further fuel to the K/DA comeback rumors.
Riot Games’ growing virtual music universe
K/DA is only one part of Riot Games’ broader approach to music in League of Legends.
Over the years, Riot has transformed its champions into members of different virtual musical groups, covering a wide range of genres. Pentakill brought heavy metal to the game, while True Damage explored hip-hop and K/DA introduced a K-pop-inspired sound. HEARTSTEEL later added a pop-focused boy band to the lineup.
HEARTSTEEL debuted in 2023 with “PARANOIA,” featuring Kayn, Ezreal, Sett, Yone, K’Sante, and Aphelios.
This approach has helped make music a significant part of the League of Legends universe, extending the game’s characters and stories beyond traditional gameplay.
Is K/DA really coming back?
For now, WATCH ME is not official confirmation of a K/DA comeback.
The song’s registration confirms that a track with K/DA listed as performers exists in the ASCAP database, but it does not reveal whenor whether Riot Games will release it.
Still, the combination of K/DA’s name, Sebastien Najand’s involvement, and a group of accomplished pop and K-pop songwriters makes the registration difficult to ignore.
If WATCH ME does become an official release, it could mark K/DA’s first major return since 2020 and potentially signal a new era for Riot Games’ most recognizable virtual girl group.
