What Have EA Said Is Changing?
In a recent seven-minute long trailer, ShaunaGames revealed to FIFA presentation producer Adriano Negri about some of the changes coming to the Fifa 23 matchday experience, claiming they would be presented with: “quick-cutting, fast-paced cinematic language, and elements”.
The aim for EA is to bring Fifa fans the type of spectacle sports fans have become familiar with courtesy of all the top-end broadcasters around the world.
Negri elaborated further by explaining players will now have panoramic shots of the stadium with fans arriving through the turnstiles, as well as flashback moments on the pitch alongside manager interactions.
EA have also added that they have programmed in more by adding more heads, body types, and clothing items to make the crowd feel “natural and more varied”.
New camera angles for goals and penalties will also be added to the game to help give the game a more polished, ‘broadcaster’ feel this year.
The pitch and grass will even be given an appearance update in Fifa 23, with EA revealing that:
“We went in and we tuned the length of the grass, the color of the grass. We even show some of the dirt on the grass when it gets torn up through a slide tackle or a knee slide. Degradation will stay on the pitch throughout the course of the match – it really makes the pitch feel like a living, breathing piece of the environment.”
The Hypermotion 2 technology is set to make its series debut in Fifa 23, which is setto revolutionize how goals are presented to players. Augmented reality and new camera angles will give a more rewarding experience to players, whilst the sweet sight of seeing the goal net ripple will be even more special with the introduction of a new 3D geometry.
