Invictus Gaming made an impressive start to the LPL 2023 Spring Split with two wins in a row against Anyone’s Legend and Royal Never Give Up.
Invictus Gaming made a huge change before the LPL 2022 season and parted ways with the legendary mid laner Song “Rookie” Eui-jin. Rookie used to be the face of the organization as he spent many years under the banner. After that, they had poor performances in the 2022 season. However, Invictus Gaming signed Kim “Dove” Jae-yoon from Liib SANDBOX to change their fate in LPL 2023 Spring Split. It looks like the South Korean mid laner has great chemistry with his teammates as he had a huge impact in the second game of the split. IG are now 2-0 in the league. They took down Anyone’s Legends and one of the favorites of the league, Royal Never Give Up.
The last two years weren’t favorable for IG as the ex-World Champions had poor performances two years in a row. The organization decided to do some kind of revolution to stop the descending performance. As a result, they formed a new roster for 2023. YSKM joined as a top laner alongside the South Korean duo gideon and Dove. YSKM joined from the PCS team Frank Esports, gideon came from KT Rolster and Dove’s last stop was Liiv SANDBOX. Ahn and Wink stayed with the team and Wink continued to play support.
IG swept Anyone’s Legend to start things off and they didn’t have Dove on the starting lineup but the substitute mid laner neny played in mid lane. Despite the change, IG were the victorious side. Secondly, they took down one of the strongest teams in the league, Royal Never Give Up.
Invictus Gaming haven’t lost a single map in the first two weeks of the LPL 2023 Spring Split. It will be interesting to see whether they will be able to keep the performance or not.
