Ex-caster Ibai and Barcelona star Gerard Pique announced their new team’s name, logo, and kit with a huge event. The new team’s name will be KOI.
Ibai and Gerard Pique have been getting together on Twitch streams and social media to announce their upcoming esports team. However, the official announcement has been made today with a huge event that featured the new content creators of the team. Ibai and Gerard Pique’s new team is named after a historical Far-Eastern fish, KOI. Their Twitter account gained over 170k followers in a few hours after the event.

Ibai used to be an LVP caster. He was an important member of the LVP cast for five years between 2015-2020 before announcing his retirement. Ibai joined G2 Esports as a content creator and spent one year with the organization. He is an iconic streamer in the Spanish community. From now on, he will be working for his new team.
If you are into football, or soccer however you call it, you probably know who Gerard Pique is. He has been playing for Barcelona and the Spanish national team for many years now and he is considered one of the best defenders in the world considering his career. Pique has a Twitch channel and he attracts many viewers.
The team’s name represents a fish breed and its color scheme is mainly purple. Koi fish represents success and determination. Ibai and Gerard Pique’s team KOI will compete in the 2022 LVP season, starting next year.
