Discord is a great platform where you can exchange your opinions in a civil and polite way. Unfortunately, as with any online community, some people may not abide by these guidelines. For this reason, we have decided to create this article where we explain to you how to report Discord messages.
In the event that you come across some message that offends your sensibility and/or is offensive, all you have to do is follow our simple guide.
How to submit a message report on Discord
Submitting your request is very simple, even if the procedures are slightly different depending on the device you are using. But fear not: here we will explain how to do it in any case.
- First of all, the first thing to do is to select the message you want to report. In case you are using a mobile device, you will simply have to hold down on the message; in case you are from a computer, you will have to press the right mouse button.
- At this point, the “Report Message” item will appear. Select it.
- Now is the time to choose the reason for your selection. You can choose one of the motifs from a drop-down menu.
- Finally, in the last screen, you will have to go into more detail on the reasons for your choice. NOTE: You can always go back to choose the most appropriate category.
What happens after?
Once you submit your request, a specific team will review it to see if it actually violates Discord’s Community Guidelines or Terms of Service. If this is the case, various measures can be taken in this regard.
Among the measures implemented by the specialized team are disabling accounts, removing servers, and, when appropriate, engaging with the proper authorities.
If you don’t think the messages received should be reported but don’t want that account to bother you anymore, you also have the option to block it. Once their account is blocked, they will no longer be able to send you messages or see your activity.
To block an account, all you have to do is click on the name with the right mouse button, click on “Block,” and confirm your choice. On mobile, however, you will have to go to that person’s profile, click on the three dots at the top right, and then choose “Block“.
