Concrete is a durable and colorful material that can give any Minecraft creation a fabulous look and here is a guide on how to make concrete in Minecraft. It is available in a range of colors and does not explode into flame like wool.
There are some things worth noting before we dive into the process of making concrete. Firstly, it can only be mined with a pickaxe, or else the block will be lost. The fundamental block of concrete powder has the same integrated physics as sand and gravel, its building blocks, which means that it will follow gravity and fall.
In contrast, hardened concrete will follow the physics of most other blocks and maintain its position regardless of blocks being present underneath it.
Concrete blocks also have a slightly higher hardness than Stone, but that comes at the sacrifice of lower blast resistance. If you want to know how to make concrete in Minecraft, keep reading!

Items you need to Make Concrete in Minecraft
- 4 blocks of gravel
- 4 blocks of sand
- A dye of your choice
- Water source
Gravel:
It can be found on beaches, near small water pools, ponds in gravelly mountain biomes covering much of the surface, and underwater covering the bottom of cold, frozen ocean biomes.
It can be harvested with any tool, but a shovel is considerably more efficient than its counterparts. For making 8 concrete powder blocks, only 4 gravel blocks are required so it won’t be much of a hassle.
Sand:
Mine sand blocks with a shovel, which are also essential in concrete construction. You can find these blocks in desert biomes as well as next to bodies of water such as lakes, rivers, and beaches. You need 4 of these, too for making concrete in Minecraft.
Dye:
You need to know what color you desire your concrete to be before we can begin crafting it. In Minecraft, concrete can be any of the sixteen possible dye options: red, orange, yellow, green, lime, cyan, light blue, blue, purple, magenta, pink, brown, black, grey, white, or light grey.
It is possible to acquire these various dyes by crafting, smelting, or selling. There is no single method of crafting a dye, as each dye has its recipe.

The chart below displays the source for obtaining each dye.
Water source:
The concrete powder made can be solidified when exposed to all water sources except the rain, cauldrons, or water bottles.

Open the crafting table.
To create the required pattern, you need to place four blocks of gravel. You should place three of these blocks in the last column, and the remaining block should be placed in the last cell of the middle row. The process is not very different if you want to make white concrete in Minecraft.
These act as one of the two primary building blocks of concrete powder.

2. Place sand:
Like gravel place the sand; however, the placement of sand isn’t symmetrical to gravel so make sure that you’re following the picture below block by block. To complete the middle row where there is already one gravel, you should place two blocks. You should fill the first two cells with sand. Place the other two blocks on the second and third cells of the first row.

3. Place the dye:
After placing the sand and gravel, you will have one empty cell in the crafting grid. You can place any dye of your choice in this cell. Once you do so, a stack of 8 concrete blocks should appear on your screen.

4. Drag the concrete powder into your inventory:
As mentioned earlier, following this recipe will produce a concrete powder block. Turning the powder into concrete is rather easy. All you have to do is simply place the Concrete Powder next to a water source and it will turn into hardened Concrete!
The image below shows a player holding a concrete block, and immediately after placing it near the water, it turns into solid concrete. The block transforms from grainy to a smoother, and brighter appearance. The concrete Minecraft recipe is that easy.

5. Mine the concrete:
This is the final step in the process of successfully constructing concrete. You have the concrete block already in front of you, and now you only have to mine it. You can only mine it with a pickaxe.

This is how to make concrete in Minecraft or, in other words, a concrete Minecraft recipe!
