The 2022 FIFA World Cup is all set to start in Qatar on the 20th November, and EA have revealed all the details about Fifa 23’s upcoming World Cup update. Included in the reveal for the game mode has been a deep-diving trailer, the release date, content included and some classic elements from previous World Cup editions. When Is The Fifa 23 World Cup Mode Coming Out?
EA have confirmed that the World Cup mode will be landing on the 9th November 2022. The mode will be free and available to play for players on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
For players on Nitendo Switch, their edition won’t see the game mode implemented on account of their ‘legacy edition’ essentially being run on the same gameplay mechanics as Fifa 22.
From 21st November to 18th December, there will be a ‘live World Cup mode’ that will allow players to play out the real-world fixtures being held across the tournament’s knockout rounds. When England are inevitably enduring their usual early exits, this could be the mode to turn to.
What Is Included?
The Fifa 23 World Cup game mode will allow players as any of the 32 qualified nations in a recreation of the this year’s tournament. Players will also be able to customise the tournament to change the groups for teams who didn’t qualify.
There will also be an online tournament mode that will allow players to choose between any of the 32 qualified nations.
Fifa 23 Ultimate Team will also be given 30 unique FUT cards known as ‘Heroes’ for players to include in their squads. EA have also teased further new icons being added in the form of “World Cup FUT Phenoms”, which are about “uplifting the performances of some of football’s brightest stars.
There will also be a Team of the Tournament that will reward the stars of the World Cup with boosted attributes, as well as two new in-game stadiums added including the final’s venue, Lusail Stadium.
