Communication is a must in any online multiplayer game and its importance is bigger in FPS games. Riot Games’ shooter title, Valorant, requires a lot of teamwork and using text chat and voice chat are the best ways to work as a team.
How to use voice chat in Valorant
First of all, you need to have a microphone to use the voice chat in the game. After joining Valorant, you should click the wheel symbol on the top right of the screen. From there, go into the Audio sub-menu, then click Voice Chat.

The next step will be adjusting your microphone settings. Choose your microphone in the Input Device section and arrange the incoming and mic volume however you want.

Then, you should activate your Party Voice Chat, Party Voice During Custom Game, and Team Voice Chat. We recommend you to use Push to Talk as your activation mode, otherwise, your microphone will be active every time. You can edit your voice chat key bindings under the controls -> communication sub-menu.

If you complete the process correctly, you would be able to use the voice chat during the game by using the key bindings for it.
How to use text chat in Valorant
Using text chat is pretty easy in Valorant. During the game, you can simply click Enter and type whatever you want for your team. To use the ‘all chat’ function, press shift+enter, but make sure that you don’t disable the ‘all chat’ from the button that is at the bottom of the in-game list.
Toxicity is a real problem in multiplayer online games, but you can decrease its level with the option that Valorant offers to block some of the offensive words. To do that, go to the General options and activate “Explicit Language Filter”.

If you are a player who doesn’t want to communicate through voice or text channels, pings can be helpful for you. Valorant comprises a lot of pings to describe your actions for the teammates. You can find all the pings in the communication sub-menu.
