Akali is one of the coolest magic damage assassins in the game, especially with the fact that she does not use mana, but she also has some of the coolest lore.
If you are into pure fantasy lore, and love games such as World of Warcraft and Skyrim, Akali and her lore might just be for you. A big part of her character is Akali’s personality, which comes a lot from her age, so what is that exactly??
Akali’s age in League of Legends
Akali is 20 years of age as she was born in 977 AN. This makes her one of the younger assassins on the League of Legends champion roster, and whilst she is young, she is also one of the most powerful heroes in Ionia and the Kinkou Order.
Her promise is yet to be fulfilled, and this is something we hope to see Riot Games explore with the next Ionian champion, and maybe we will get a bit more lore about Akali, Shen and the Kinkou Order in general.
Akali being 20 years of age gives her a lot of personality, both in the lore and in the game, and perhaps her young naivety and lack of true experience have been costly for her in the past, but this all builds into her character development.

Where is Akali from in League of Legends?
Akali is an Ionian native, who was born in the Temple of Thanjuul, a hidden temple in the mountains of Ionia. This is where she remains to the current day in League of Legends lore, alongside other members of the Kinkou Order, which includes Kennen and Shen.
When was Akali added to League of Legends?
Akali was released in Patch 126.96.36.199, which was all the way back on May 11, 2010! This means she has been out for well over 13 years, being on the Rift since almost day one of League of Legends.
Akali was granted her rework nearly a decade later, and the rework hit the rift in Patch 8.15, which was released on August 1, 2018. This was a complete rework of the character, visually updating her model and abilities, as well as completely refreshing and changing her kit in-game.
Riot Games introduced true stealth alongside Akali’s Twilight Shroud, allowing her to tower dive enemies and not be able to be seen by towers. As you can imagine, this was incredibly overpowered and quickly removed!
