The challenging physics-based co-op platformer launches this April
The silence of the kingdom has been broken. Hold Your King has officially revealed a brand-new trailer and launched its playable demo, giving players their first chance to experience the game’s chaotic medieval teamwork ahead of its full release in April 2026.
Developed as a physics-driven co-op experience, Hold Your King tasks two players with an absurdly simple mission: carry an ill-tempered king through deadly medieval obstacle courses and deliver him safely to the throne room. In practice, it’s anything but simple. Every misstep, wobble, or lapse in coordination risks tipping the king into a royal tantrum, complete with whips, rage, and punishment.
A Test of Balance, Physics, and Friendship
At the heart of Hold Your King is a deeply interactive physics system. Player movement directly affects speed, momentum, and balance, turning every step into a calculated risk. One player’s mistake can send both tumbling, and angering the king in the process.
Players must lift, lower, and rotate the stretcher while navigating traps, hazards, and shifting terrain. When things start to go wrong, desperate measures are allowed: bonk the king to steady him, though doing so may only make matters worse.
The king himself is fully reactive to his environment and to player actions, responding dynamically with facial expressions, tantrums, and increasingly unpredictable behavior.
