All EMEA representatives in VCT 2021 Stage 3 Masters Berlin became clear after today’s results, and it was Acend, SuperMassive Blaze, Gambit, and G2 Esports who earned the Berlin tickets.
Acend
Acend were the best team of the predictions before Valorant Challengers Stage 3 EMEA Playoffs’ start. They qualified here as the first seed of Europe, winning the Challengers 1. They didn’t allow for any surprises in the playoffs, as Acend faced both Natus Vincere and Gambit Esports in the upper bracket and defeated them successively. Mehmet Yağız “cNed” İpek showed off once more how just good he is, leading his team in KDA and being the MVP of the first week of the EMEA Playoffs.
SuperMassive Blaze
The Turkish superteam were already looking scary on paper while coming into the tournament, and SuperMassive Blaze proved in the EMEA Playoffs that they are way stronger than they look. With crazy EMEA individual players in tow, the Turkish representative surpassed FunPlus Phoenix and G2 Esports to earn a spot in Masters Berlin. Even though every member of SuperMassive Blaze finished the first two series with positive scores, Baran “Izzy” Yılmaz was the most notable player in the team.
Gambit Esports
Gambit Esports had one last chance left in the lower bracket after winning against Guild Esports and losing against Acend. They had to pass Team Liquid to get a seat along Acend and SuperMassive Blaze, and in the end the CIS team have done it with a 2-1 score. Despite struggling and making easy mistakes throughout the series, Gambit Esports were one of the teams that performed well overall. The team’s 19-year old star Ayaz “nAts” Akhmetshin was the best player for his team.
G2 Esports
As it turns out, a fully renewed EMEA roster was enough for G2 Esports to qualify for VCT 2021 Stage 3 Masters Berlin. The new squad was able to get to the EMEA Playoffs through Challengers 1, being the second team right after Acend. The playoffs started great for the European team as they managed to take over Oxygen Esports in the upper bracket round 2; however, they were shocked by SuperMassive Blaze in the next round, suffering defeat with a 2-0 score. G2’s last chance was to beat Giants Gaming in the lower bracket, which they did after three maps. Óscar Cañellas “mixwell” Colocho and his friends finally stopped the rot.
Valorant Champions Tour 2021 Stage 3 EMEA Playoffs will continue on August 20 with seed decider matches.
