Koei Tecmo have dropped DOA6 Last round to an overwhelmingly negative response!
But how have they screwed this up and why are fans so mad at this release?

Although people are not hating for the usual reason of hating the human body. No instead the fans have every right to be given the one major flaw. There is really not that many difference from the base game to deserve another purchase…
There is no rollback net code and so online matches are still rather laggy and lacklustre. Firstly, this is a huge deal breaker for fighting game fans who enjoy the multiplayer aspect. Secondly this shows that they really did not put that much effort into adding to the base game.
On that note there has been almost zero changes or tweaks to the core mechanics of the game-play! There is no balance patch added in to the game day one to adjust characters.
Overall, the biggest reasons Hate Dead Or Alive 6 Last Round Release is the lack of additions. Although there is a photo mode and new lighting engine nothing else has changed dramatically.
They adjusted how the clothes shop work so now you earn clothes faster. Although that is a good change really that should have been changed in base DOA6. The upcoming free new character is not out yet so there is no reason to buy just yet.
Also to add there is the issue of DLC not all fully being unlocked. Especially with the case of Mai and Kula. Even if you bought them before you have to buy them again!

The dreaded day 1 bombardment of DLC is still there sitting at 400 DLC content. Pretty much all of that should have been included with the last round release to warrant a buy.
However, the biggest reason fans Hate Dead Or Alive 6 last round drop is because of one thing. It shows to them that Koei Techmo do not care enough. This is a 7-year-old game being released with almost no big changed for $40. It feels sleazy, corrupt and shows no big drive to win back the players.
However, many fans have noted that along the line in a few months the game may earn its stirpes. The post content drops might build up enough to spark a few buys. Also, this may light a fire under the devs to bring out some balance patches and tweaks.
But as a run up to DOA7 this is a really bad look for Koei and the franchise. Some fans even speculate that this is a plot to have a release so bad that it forces Koei to cancel DOA7. I sincerely hope not and that they improve this title quick.
