The world’s most famous lasagna-loving cat is returning to gaming later this year with a brand-new platforming adventure. Publisher Microids and developer OSome Studio have officially revealed Garfield: Escape from Monday, a colorful 3D action-platformer launching on September 24, 2026, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
Combining classic Garfield humor with imaginative platforming gameplay, the upcoming title sends players into a bizarre dream world where vegetables, sugar-free treats, and other culinary nightmares threaten the feline icon’s peaceful slumber.
A Nightmare No Cat Wants to Experience
Garfield has always enjoyed two things more than anything else: sleeping and eating lasagna. However, after being served a spinach-infused lasagna inspired by Chef Monday’s recipe, the lazy cat falls into a strange and unsettling dream.
Trapped inside a surreal nightmare filled with strange creatures, dangerous obstacles, and food-related horrors, Garfield must find a way to wake up and restore his beloved taste buds. To do so, players will journey through vibrant worlds packed with challenges, collectibles, and memorable encounters.
Fortunately, Garfield won’t be alone. Fan-favorite characters including Jon, Odie, Arlene, and Pookie will lend a helping hand throughout the adventure, while familiar rivals such as Nermal and Squeak stand in the way of escape.
Master Garfield’s Feline Skills
As a 3D platformer, Garfield: Escape from Monday focuses heavily on movement and exploration. Players will be able to utilize Garfield’s agility to navigate levels by jumping across platforms, climbing walls, and rolling through environments.
The adventure also introduces three unique costumes that provide special abilities and open up new ways to explore:
- Turkey Costume – Gives Garfield the ability to glide through the air.
- Surfer Costume – Allows him to skim across water and navigate aquatic areas.
- Cowboy Costume – Equips Garfield with a lasso for swinging across gaps and reaching hidden locations.
Each costume plays a key role in overcoming platforming challenges and defeating the game’s bosses.
Three Worlds Packed With Challenges
The game will feature three distinct worlds containing more than 40 levels filled with enemies, secrets, and plenty of lasagna to collect.
Exploration is rewarded through a progression system that lets players gather collectibles and use them to customize Jon’s house. As more items are discovered throughout the adventure, additional decorative options and upgrades become available.
