Gambit Esports have eliminated G2 Esports in Masters Berlin, they will face the winner of Envy-100 Thieves in the grand final.
The first finalist of VCT 2021 Masters Berlin is clear now. Gambit Esports demolished G2 Esports in the semifinals with a quick 2-0. While the CIS team didn’t drop a single map in Icebox, Ayaz “nAts” Akhmetshin put an unforgettable performance throughout the series, generating a 1.60 Rating and 322 ACS.
Breeze
Unlike the expectations, Gambit picked Breeze as the first map of the series. The first couple of rounds were evidence that the match would be a bloodbath as both teams stole eco rounds from each other. G2 Esports tried to farm Gambit’s A site, but the CIS team didn’t allow it, except for a few rounds, playing great retakes. The first half ended 7-5 in favor of Gambit Esports.
After the lurking game in the first half, it was time for Gambit to show up on the attacking side. nAts’ rotation around the map and his team’s variable strategies were enough to take down G2 Esports. Gambit won the map 13-10.
Icebox
This was an absolute humiliation from Gambit Esports. It was impossible to watch without feeling bad for G2 and admiring the CIS representative. Gambit were the favorite team before coming to this matchup, but nobody expected such a one-sided game. Valorant fans witnessed nAts magic, realizing that once more he is one of the best players in the world.
G2 Esports like to break records and they did in Icebox. The European team became the first team in Masters Berlin that lost a map without taking a single map point. Gambit crushed them and sent them home with a clean 13-0.
Gambit Esports advanced to the grand finals of Masters Berlin, awaiting their rival. The grand final will be played on September 19. The winner of Envy – 100 Thieves will be the other finalist team.
