POPC Live!, Middle East’s biggest esports, comics, and YouTubers’ pop culture festival; will be organized jointly by Galaxy Racer and Waveriders, and will be held in March 2022.

The inaugural edition of POPC Live! Will feature five days of innovative experiences and unique activities that will be organized for the first time in the region. An expansive “Esports Zone” will be set up in the festival, with tournaments featuring the biggest names in the gaming and entertainment industries as well as attendance from world’s most prominent celebrities planned. POPC Live! will welcome leading developers, publishers and esports teams to Dubai, giving visitors an exceptional opportunity to network with international stars and media leaders.
Highlights will include PUBG Mobile, League of Legends and Dota 2 tournaments hosted at the massive Esports Zone where top international teams will compete for prize pools at hundreds of thousands of US dollars. The festival will also work for community-building and inclusivity by hosting several public community tournaments hosted by Galaxy Racer as well as the GIRLGAMER World Finals.
About the collaboration
POPC Live! will be supported by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO), as part of their vision to transform Dubai into a creative space and share the potential the city holds for cultural activities, innovation and talent. The partners they have entrusted the organization with, Galaxy Racer and Waverider, had announced their global partnership earlier in August 2021.
Speaking about the collaboration and the event, Waverider CEO Arafaat Ali Khan stated how thrilled they were about getting the opportunity to develop such a big event in the region, and explained that the festival’s focus would be on creativity, a true sense of community and producing the best content. As Waverider’s main interest is producing new content, POPC Live! will be one of the many exciting content events planned for the upcoming months.

Paul Roy, CEO of Galaxy Racer shared their excitement in working with Waverider, one of the pop culture event pioneers of the region, to organize the event. Galaxy Racer’s gaming and esports expertise, content creators and relationship with the global GIRLGAMER esports festival will ensure that POPC Live! will be the biggest celebration of esports and gaming culture ever seen in the region.
