The first eliminated team of Masters Berlin is revealed after today’s opening matchup, as G2 Esports defeated F4Q with a quick 2-0 and pushed them out of the tournament. Žygimantas “nukkye” Chmieliauskas led his team in the victory, finishing the series with a 281 combat score.
Bind
G2 Esports were an absolute nightmare for F4Q throughout the map. It was the map choice of the Korean side, but it was the EMEA representative who completely owned the first match of the series. From the beginning, G2 found weaknesses on B defense and benefited from them, using Raze’s satchels and Skye’s flashes. F4Q suffered in gathering early information about their opponents, which ended with insufficient defense in both bombsites. Adding to all of these, losing the gun duels didn’t help F4Q and turned the first half to 9-3 in favor of G2 Esports
The second half was easier for the European side after winning the pistol round. Even though F4Q tried a couple of attacks, they were easily denied by G2 with great utility usages. Soon after, the EU representative ended the game with a 13-3.
Ascent
G2 Esports started from where they left in Ascent. As was the case in the previous map, F4Q made a huge mistake by giving up the control of the map to G2 in all rounds, which caused them to not be able to stop their opponents’ attacks. Europe’s fourth seed could do whatever they wanted across the map and it ended with a quick half 9-3 in favor of them.
After G2 took the pistol round in the second half, everyone thought that the ending would be the same. However, Chae “Bunny” Joon-hyuk came to the rescue of his team with a Judge. The Korean side managed to win a couple of rounds with fast executes, but they couldn’t keep up due to the lack of strategies. G2 Esports ended the game with a 13-6.
F4Q bid farewell to the tournament after the result while G2 Esports qualified to the playoffs, alongside Sentinels from Group D.
