The off-season roster shuffle has seen two of forZe’s members depart the roster. Talks of a third possibly leaving is putting the CIS organization’s Valorant LCQ slot in jeopardy.
forZe headed to the EMEA Last Chance Qualifier, or are they?
forZe has been one of the CIS region’s top teams since the VCT started. They are the First Strike CIS Champions. The team has only ever suffered losses to No Pressure in their home region, the current Natus Vincere roster, Gambit Esports, and One Breath Gaming. Their performance throughout the year has earned them a place at the EMEA LCQ.
However, with the Valorant off-season in full swing for most other organizations, forZe seems to have difficulty keeping its players. Denis “hugeon” Vasiliev and Nikolai “zeddy” Lapko, forZe’s IGL, have joined their team’s CIS rivals, One Breath Gaming. Moreover, there are reports of a third roster member leaving the group.
Is FunPlus Phoenix poaching more than just a player?
A report from VLR.gg shared that Dmitry “SUYGETSU” Ilyushin, forZe’s outstanding flex-role player, could be joining FunPlus Phoenix. With the circuit point rules stating that a team must hold on to three roster members that earned its points to keep them, SUYGETSU leaving forZe could cause the CIS team to lose its Valorant EMEA LCQ slot.
The kicker in all of this is that FunPlus Phoenix is just behind forZe in the EMEA circuit point standings. forZe has edged our FPX for the final Valorant EMEA LCQ slot by five points. Should the CIS squad lose another member, FPX will then inherit said slot.
The current forZe roster is as follows:
- Nikita “Coffee” Antsypirovich
- Dmitry “SUYGETSU” Ilyushin
- Vyacheslav “Art1st” Lyadnov
The current One Breath Gaming roster is as follows:
- Denis “hugeon” Vasiliev
- Nikolai “zeddy” Lapko
- Vladislav “minse” Kuzminykh
- Stanislav “Sp1ke” Koshel
The EMEA LCQ will begin on October 10th-17th. The winner of the tournament will take the final EMEA seat at Valorant Champions in December. We’ll just have to wait and see if it will be forZe or FPX competing for that seat.
