We are already more than halfway through Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 7 and Week 7 is upon us and that means there are new Epic and Legendary quests to complete to earn some XP.
Fortnite Season 7 Week 7 Epic Challenges
The new Epic and Legendary challenges of Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 7 Week 7 are now live. To gain access to the skins and cosmetics introduced with the new Fortnite battle pass, you’ll need a massive amount of experience points to gain Battle Stars. Completing weekly challenges is the best way to earn XP since this week’s challenges alone offer about 375 000 in total.
Following up on our Week 6 Challenge Guide, here’s the full list of Fortnite Chapter 2’s Season 7 Week 7 Epic Challenges:
- Use a Recon Scanner to spot an enemy player (1) – 30 000 XP
- Visit Misty Meadows, Catty Corner and Camp Cod in a single match (3) – 30 000 XP
- Search ammo boxes (5) – 30 000 XP
- Defeat Riot (1) – 30 000 XP
- Reach top speed in a Whiplash (1) – 30 000 XP
- Drive a Whiplash through the Storm (1) – 30 000 XP
- Complete Whiplash Time Trials (1) – 30 000 XP
The numbers in the brackets refer to the times a respective action needs to be performed to complete the challenge and earn the XP reward mentioned alongside. Though most of the Epic challenges are self-explanatory, a couple of them may require added guidance.
Defeat Riot (1) – 30 000 XP
As part of the week 7 quests, players will need to defeat Riot in Fortnite. The main problem with completing this challenge comes in actually tracking down the mohawk-donning NPC. Riot can be found on the yellow steel bridge to the east of Misty Meadows. It is marked on the map below:
Once you arrive here, you’re looking out for the character with a mohawk. Make sure you’ve already used any shield potions you’ve picked up and have a fairly powerful weapon equipped. After a few headshots, you should defeat Riot and be able to pick up his Epic Heavy Assault Rifle.
Complete Whiplash Time Trials (1) – 30 000 XP
On the east side of Lazy Lake, right outside the A Lot O’ Auto building, you’ll find the Whiplash Time Trial. Once you get here, you should see the blue arrow with a stopwatch and a tire beneath it. This indicates the start of the time trial. Simply get in Whiplash and head over to the arrow and you’ll be able to begin the time trial itself. Complete the route before the time runs out.

Construct a wooden hatchery (1) – 45 000 XP
You will have to approach potential locations of this wooden hatchery, where a blue outline will be visible and a prompt will appear. You will need some wood to construct a wooden hatchery so head to one of the nearby trees to get this. Once you have the required materials, head back to the small shack and interact with the silhouette of the hatchery. If you’ve followed all of these steps when you should have completed the quest with minimal issues and have bagged yourself a cool 45 000 XP.
Mark an Alien egg (1) – 30 000 XP
When you see one of the alien eggs marked on the map below, be it at the Durr Burger restaurant or anywhere else, to mark it you simply need to place a ping directly on it. You’ll know you’ve done this right if the ping specifically resembles a small egg icon.
Collect records from Pleasant Park or Craggy Cliffs (2) – 30 000 XP
You will need to collect a total of two records out of the four sets of records in each location. While the records are marked in the picture below, here is the detailed description for the placement of each record.
Pleasant Park:
- In the White House, on the Ground Floor to the left after the front door
- On the Ground Floor of the Red-fronted house next to the drawer
- Next to the TV in the Grey House
- Inside the Modern house, next to the bookcase
Craggy Cliffs:
- House at the top of the hill to the West of Craggy Cliffs, next to the table
- Inside the garage next to the staircase between the NOMS! and Oink buildings
- Outside the Cap’N Carp shop, down the alleyway
- On the Ground Floor of the boat storage building

Stoke campfires near different hatcheries (2) – 30 000 XP
Head to one of the locations in the video below and kindle campfires near different hatcheries. Remember that once you’ve lit a campfire, stoking it requires 30 woods, so make sure you have enough on hand. It will take 200 wood to relight the campfire if it is extinguished before it is stoked.
Collect parenting books from Holly Hatchery or Retail Row (2) – 30 000 XP
As the quest name suggests, you can collect parenting books from Holly Hatchery or Retail Row on the Fortnite map. You need to collect two books in total from any of the available locations. Once you arrive at any of the locations, just interact with the small stack of books to collect them. Once you collect two of the parenting books, the quest is complete and you are awarded 30 000 XP.
