The first week of Fortnite Chapter 2, Season 7 has officially begun, which means there are new Epic and Legendary challenges players need to complete in order to progress through the battle pass.

Fortnite’s latest Battle Pass features new unlockable characters, such as Superman and Rick Sanchez. To gain access to these skins and the rest of the goodies, you’ll need a massive amount of experience points to gain Battle Stars. There’s no better way to earn XP than by completing the weekly challenges, as the first week’s challenges themselves offer 400 000 in total.

Fortnite Season 7 Week 1 Epic Challenges

Here’s the full list of Fortnite Chapter 2’s Season 7 Week 1 Epic Challenges:

  • Collect different weapon types – 30,000 XP (5)
  • Search chests at Steamy Stacks or Craggy Cliffs – 30,000 XP
  • Deal damage with the Pulse Rifle – 30,000 XP (500)
  • Eliminate a player with the Rail Gun – 30,000 XP (1)
  • Upgrade weapons at upgrade benches – 30,000 XP (3)
  • Accept a quest from a payphone – 30,000 XP (1)
  • Upgrade weapons at an upgrade bench – 30,000 XP (3)
  • Buy a shield potion from a Mending Machine – 30,000 XP (1)

The numbers in the brackets refer to the times a respective action needs to be performed to complete the challenge and earn the reward. Though most of the Epic challenges are self-explanatory, a couple of them benefit from added guidance.

Accept a quest from a payphone — 30,000 XP (1)

These payphones are a little different as they are relatively modern-looking and shouldn’t be confused with the phone booths that players could hide in. In previous seasons, players were able to interact with various NPCs at various locations to get a quest. Payphones operate the same way so once you find them interacting with them isn’t a difficult task. Here are all the locations:

Upgrade weapons at an upgrade bench — 30,000 XP (3)

Once you approach an upgrade bench on any of the locations displayed below with a weapon equipped, you’ll receive a prompt to level the item up to the next tier with each upgrade costing a certain amount of gold.

Buy a shield potion from a Mending Machine — 30,000 XP (1)

Mending Machines are similar to Weapon-O-Matic vending machines, except they offer healing items. They are commonly found at Gas Stations, at the major points of interest (POIs), on the Fortnite Season 7 map. They aren’t guaranteed to spawn, so if you arrive at a spot without a machine, try finding the closest one using the map below. Once you arrive at a Mending Machine, you will have to spend Gold to purchase a Shield Potion.

Fortnite Season 7 Week 1 Legendary Challenges

Place rubber ducks in Retail Row, Pleasant Park and Believer Beach — 30,000 XP (3)

This challenge sounds difficult, but is rather easy to accomplish. Land on the locations marked on the map below and approach the rubber duck situated, which will be emitting a glow to make it easier to spot. As you approach it, you’ll notice an interact button. Simply hold the button to complete the challenge. The rubber duck can be found near the gas station at Pleasant Park, on the edge of the swimming pool in Believer Beach and finally in the southeast corner of the Retail Row on the basketball court.

Collect 10 different IO tech weapons — 30,000 XP (3)

IO stands for Imagined Order, the group that has returned this season in the aftermath of the alien invasion. The IO tech weapons for this season are the Pulse Rifle, the Recon Scanner and the Rail Gun. Each of these weapons must be picked up to complete the challenge with the best way of finding IO tech weapons is to land at the different IO outposts.

These outposts are scattered throughout the Fortnite map and have distinct red lights visible from the sky making it easier to land at these locations. They contain special chests, darker and wider than normal, from which you can obtain the IO tech weapons.

Collect Stone from The Aftermath — 30,000 XP (100)

The Aftermath is an enormous crater in the center of the new map, where the Spire used to be before it was destroyed. You must land in the crater and use your pickaxe to gather 100 stones. Players might see small stones emerging from the ground or water which they need to hit with their pickaxe or powerful guns to collect them.

Interact with Bunker Jonesy’s conspiracy board — 30,000 XP (1)

Bunker Jonesy lives alone in a cabin at the bottom of the map and is almost in the direct middle at the very bottom of the map. Players may land nearby and rush down the mountain to the cabin. Bunker Jonesy’s conspiracy board is located within the cabin, just right to the door. Simply interact with the board once to complete the challenge.

Converse with Sunny, Abstrakt, Dreamflower, Riot or Bushranger — 45,000 XP (3)

Once you visit either of these locations on the map, simply approach the NPC and interact once to initiate the conversation and earn progress on your challenge. Repeat the same with two other characters to earn 45,000 XP.
