Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2 competitive will include FNCS Major 2, and a shake-up with new formats of Zero Build, Cash Cups, PlayStation Cups, and more Victory Cash Cups!
Before we jump into Epic’s competitive notes for Season 2, let’s take a step back and look at the competitive landscape for Fortnite.
FNCS Chapter 4 Season 1- Grand Finals
We’ll focus on the two largest Fortnite regions of EU and NAE. The Fortnite European region had one of the closest finals ever. Amazingly, first and second place were separated by only 1 point!
The winners in EU were TaySon and Merstach with a total of 605 points. Second place went to Malibuca and Th0masHD with a total of 604 points.
As Tuco from Breaking Bad would say, the competition was “Tight, Tight, Tight”!
The NAE champs, Acorn and Cold, had a slightly easier route to the winner’s podium. Acorn played his role extremely well. However, credit must be given to Cold. Basically, Cold clutched up hard as a solo in a couple of key endgames throughout both days of the tournament.
Ultimately, Cold and Acron ended the tournament with a total of 594 points. Ajerss and Khanada had a great tournament as well ending up in second place with 552 points.
Central Server for NAE Competitive Tournaments
This new season will be very interesting for the pros in the NAE region. As Gamelevate reported earlier, all competitive matches will now be played on the NA Central server in Texas.
Many pros have already indicated that they are moving to Dallas, Tx. For those who can’t move, it will be interesting to see how their higher ping will affect tournament results.

Fortnite x Esports Orgs
One last thing to note before we move on to the details. Could it be that Dignitas is becoming the shining white knight of Fortnite esports?
It was with sadness that Gamelevate reported that many esports orgs were getting out of the Fortnite competitive scene due to a lack of support from Epic. Stalwart Fortnite teams such as NRG, TSM, BL, and Sentinels gave up their entire rosters of Fortnite players.
In contrast, Dignitas has been the only tier-1 organization to expand it’s Fortnite roster. Their team now is made up of a number of top professionals including Bugha, Khanada, Mero, Duke, Pgod, and Cam.

To take it one step further, Dignitas also signed former caster and major Fortnite personality AussieAntics. It will be interesting to see if Dignitas can earn enough revenue from the Fortnite competitive scene to pay for all of these signings.
Now let’s look at the full details from Epic regarding competitive Fortnite in Chapter 4 Season 2.

In the FNCS Weekly sessions during FNCS Major 2, scores will be combined across both Thursday’s and Friday’s FNCS Major Weekly Competition sessions. Following the conclusion of the Friday session, the top 50 duos from each region will qualify for that week’s FNCS Major 2 Weekly Finals.
At the end of each weekly FNCS Major 2 competition, every duo that competed will be awarded Series Points based on their results from that week. The top 40 duos that earned the highest cumulative points on the Series Leaderboard across three weeks will qualify for the FNCS Major 2 Grand Finals.

COMPETITIVE FORTNITE FAQ
I HEARD ABOUT THE NEW NA-CENTRAL SERVER REGION. WHAT DOES THIS SERVER REGION MEAN FOR COMPETITIVE EVENTS?
Competitive events will no longer be hosted on the NA-East and NA-West server regions. Instead, tournaments in North America will run on the NA-Central servers located in Dallas, Texas, USA.

CAN I COMPETE IN MULTIPLE REGIONS THIS SEASON?
