EA aren’t holding back with their special cards this year. We’re only into December, but ‘Dynamic Upgrades’ seem to be the order of the day in Fifa 23 Ultimate Team with Road to the Knockouts, Path To Glory and Ones To Watch all dropping already. And it looks like another big promo is on the cards over the coming weeks. Headliners is always a popular time with players, so why not get to grips with the upcoming release with our full guide here at Gamelevate?
What Are Dynamic Upgrades In Fifa 23?
In Fifa 23 Ultimate Team, certain players receive special cards usually ahead of a tournament. These players have been tipped to have a big impact, and their special cards will receive a boost in their stats based on their real-life performances.
These promos featuring dynamic upgrades give Fifa players a chance to flex their football knowledge, whilst simultaneously getting their hands on a card that can quickly become overpowered in-game.
Headliners are reserved for players who have had ‘exceptional’ first halves of the season. These players will already have improved base stats and will receive even more upgrades if:
- If the player receives a new TOTW or MOTM item.
- If the team wins four domestic league matches in a row (one-time).
When Is Fifa 23 Headliners Being Released?
Historically, Headliners has always been released just before the annual Team of the Year promo. With the 2022 World Cup and upcoming Winter Wildcards taking up a lot of the Fifa 23 calendar, that doesn’t leave a lot of wiggle room for another promo.
There were two teams released during Fifa 22, so it looks like a safe bet to us that a similar sort of setup will come this year. If we were to take a stab at guessing the Headliners release date, anywhere between January 6 and January 13 looks a good bet.
Fifa 23 Headliners Leaked
In comparison to other years, Fifa 23 has been fairly lukewarm when it comes to leaks for upcoming promos. Twitter user @FUT23News has at least offered something for the upcoming release of Fifa 23 Headliners claiming:
Objective Players: Alassane Pléa (Borussia Monchengladbach), Mislav Oršić (Dinamo Zagreb)
Squad-Building Challenges: Lautaro Martinez (Inter Milan), Dele Alli (Beşiktaş), Adama Traore (Wolves), Chris Smalling (Roma)
