EA Sports finally revealed all the changes for FIFA 22 Ultimate Team(FUT) mode. The latest version of FIFA introduces new features that players will notice once they start playing the game FUT mode.
EA presents changed Division Rivals for FIFA 22 Ultimate Team
Division Rivals is where players spend the majority of their time in FIFA Ultimate Team. That said, the game’s structure has changed with the addition of a new advancement system, the Elite Division, and new Seasons in FIFA 22. The Skill Rating function is no longer available, and Division Rivals will now use a new ladder structure.
The ladder system displays your Rank, representing your progress within a Division, Stages, and Checkpoints, which prevent players from losing progress and ensuring that they stay at the right skill level. Unless you are on a Checkpoint, winning a match takes you forward by a Stage, while losing moves you backward. Drawing, on the other hand, keeps you at your current position.
EA has also added a win streak feature, which activates when you win two games in succession. For each consecutive win, players that are on a winning streak will advance to the next stage. Finally, players will no longer be required to play Placement Matches and will instead begin their journey in Division 10.
Elite Division is the new highest rank that players can achieve in Division Rivals. The new ranking system will be based on the Skill Rating, with the top 200 players appearing on the Global Leaderboard. Once a player reaches the Elite Division, they won’t be subject to a demotion for the rest of the season.
The rewards system has changed
Weekly rewards play a considerable role in improving your squad in FUT, and Division Rivals is one of the best places to obtain them. Unlike last year, there will be no match restriction to increase your rewards in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team’s Division Rivals. Players will receive the rewards based on their Rank and Division when the week closes out. If you start a week in Division 5 but make it to Division 4 by the end of the week, you’ll receive the rewards for Division 4.
Division Rivals has merged with the FUT Season and will now last for six weeks. Whether you win or lose in Rivals matches, you’ll make progress towards the Seasonal Rewards. Furthermore, depending on the Division they finish, players can receive up to three Milestone Rewards per Division. Once a season ends, players will move to a lower Division for the next season.
FUT champions will have Playoffs in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team
“Our goal with FUT Champions this year was to improve accessibility and reduce the overall commitment required to participate, with fewer matches in the week,” EA said in the statement. FUT Champions will move to a points-based system this year to lower the required match numbers.
You can always return to the Playoffs after re-qualifying through Rivals if you do not make it to the Finals. The finals will take place on weekends, similar to the Weekend League in FIFA 21, and you’ll be rewarded with additional rewards if you make it to the finals.
Meet with FUT Heroes in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team
FUT Heroes celebrate some of the most beloved players in the contemporary era of football and focus on a specific moment in their career when they cemented their legacy in their league. FUT Heroes belong to the Heroes Club but have their featured league from the real world. A Premier League Hero, for example, will receive a green link when interacting with any other Premier League player. However, two Heroes from different leagues will have a red link unless they have the same nationality.
Co-op Public Matchmaking
The new feature delivers a more casual experience within FIFA 22 Ultimate Team. Players will face each other as co-op opponents based on random unique squads that will be finalized by EA itself.
Player Item Views
EA has also tweaked the appearance of player cards. The new view will display relevant attributes based on the position type, as shown in the screenshot below. The default view will change based on the new items that are released.
Other changes in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team
The new Celebration Camera Focus settings allow you to focus on either your team’s reaction or your opponent’s celebration has been introduced.
FIFA 22 Ultimate Team will offer new VIP areas, crowd customizations, new XL TIFOs, and brand-new seasonal themes.
FIFA 22 will be released on October 1, 2021; however, the Ultimate Edition owners will be able to play it from September 27 onwards.
