The domestic seasons might be coming to a close in Europe, but the footballing world is all set for a new chapter in the gaming space with Fifa 22 becoming available to play for free for both Xbox and PlayStation users. With the game only six months old, updated with the latest squads, and still the go-to title in the world of Esports, Gamelevate takes you through how to access Fifa 22 as moves to its brand new model.
Xbox Battle Pass
For Xbox users, news broke over the past week that both Fifa 22 and Battlefield 2042 have had their Microsoft store listings updated. The update included the Xbox Game Pass symbol, and, though they’ve yet to be added to Microsoft’s subscription service, it doesn’t take extensive mental gymnastics to work out the direction EA is going down.
So, we still need to wait for an official confirmation on what games will be with the Xbox Game Pass next month, however, we’d be willing to bet our next Killer Jerky that Battlefield and Fifa will be available.
EA Play, EA’s subscription service, has already been added to the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for no additional fees, but this move will mark the first instance of the two latest installments in the company’s flagship franchise’s being included in the standard library.

PlayStation Pass
As for all the Sony enthusiasts out there, Fifa 22 is also going to become available to pick up and play for free with PlayStation Plus.
The update will even include a special FUT pack that players will be given, to help get them up to speed with the game mode when they hop in for the first time. EA have gradually begun to embrace a more industry-popular free-to-play model, instead favoring more in-game purchases.
Speaking about the announcement, Sony explained:
“PlayStation Plus members can enjoy FIFA 22, Tribes of Midgard and Curse of the Dead Gods from Tuesday, May 3 when the three games are available to add to your game library.
“This month’s lineup also includes a bonus FIFA 22 FUT pack, exclusive to PlayStation Plus.”
It added: “PlayStation Plus members can kickstart their brand-new Ultimate Team or bolster their existing squad with the PlayStation Plus FUT Pack for FIFA 22 Ultimate Team.
“This pack includes 11 players rated 82 or above to help build your dream squad in FIFA 22 Ultimate Team, as well as an Icon Moments Loan Player Pick, allowing you to choose between some of the best ballers in history and add one of three to your squad for five games.”
It looks like there are going to be some made changes in EA and the Fifa series in the near future, so this is certainly not an opportunity players will want to miss out on.
