EXCEL have announced the arrival of Feliz “Abbedagge” Braun as a substitute mid laner who recently left 100 Thieves.
Abbedagge spent the last two seasons overseas in North America with 100 Thieves. The organization decided to change its plans for the upcoming season and signed Soren “Bjergsen” Bjerg. Abbedagge left the team and failed to find himself a team to compete in the 2023 season. Despite failing to find a team to play, Abbedagge joined EXCEL as their sixth player and the substitute mid laner. EXCEL previously signed Vincent “Vetheo Berrié as the primary mid player.
EXCEL LEC 2023 Roster
- Andrei “Odoamne” Pascu
- Andrei “Xerxe” Dragomir
- Vincent “Vetheo” Berrié
- Patrik “Patrik” Jírů
- Raphael “Targamas” Crabbé
- Felix “Abbedagge” Braun (Substitute)
Abbedagge has been playing professionally for a while now as he made his entrance to the pro arena back in 2016. He played for Mysterious Monkeys, Victorious Ace, Galatasaray Esports, EURONICS Gaming, Team Vitality Academy, and Royal Bandits before making his LEC debut with Schalke 04 Esports. He joined Schalke in 2018 and spent over two years with the organization. Even though the team had ups and downs, Abbe consistently proved his worth and eventually secured a contract from overseas. He joined 100 Thieves and won the LCS 2021 Championship and also appeared in the LCS 2022 Championship Grand Finals. Abbedgge competed in both Worlds 2021 and Worlds 2022 before making his return to EU with EXCEL.
EXCEL build a new roster for the upcoming season that looks very promising. Patrik is the only remaining piece from the previous year. Odoamne, Xerxe, Vetheo, and Targamas are the newcomers. All the pieces look solid individually. Odoamne is very talented and Xerxe proved his capabilities both in the EU and NA. Vetheo on the other hand won many MVP awards last year and he was the most important player of Misfits. Lastly, Targamas was a part of G2 Esports.
With Abbedagge joining EXCEl as a substitute mid laner, the organization looks very scary on paper, maybe for the first time in franchise history.
