After two years of competing under the Evil Geniuses jersey, Jeong “Impact” Eon-young has left the organization.
Evil Geniuses had a great season last year. They first won the LCS 2022 Spring Season despite making a rough start to the season. The organization also qualified for Worlds 2022 and competed internationally both at MSI 2022 and Worlds 2022. As the 2022 season came to an end recently, the team is aiming to change its roster ahead of the LCS 2023 season. They first let the head coach Peter Dun go and now the second news hit. Evil Geniuses have parted ways with the world-champion top laner Impact.
Evil Geniuses LCS 2022 Roster
- Jeong “Impact” Eon-young
- Kacper “Inspired” Słoma
- Joseph “jojopyun” Joon Pyun
- Kyle “Danny” Sakamaki

Impact had a long career and he has been playing in North America for a while now as he has just finished his seventh year in the league. His first team as a professional player was Xenics Storm, back in 2012. Interestingly, he first played as a support but then switched to top lane. He got signed by SK Telecom T1 2 and his legacy began after joining the club. He spent over two years with SK Telecom T1 and he won the Worlds Season 3 trophy. His teammates were bengi, Faker, Piglet, and PoohManDu, as well as the coach kkOma. Impact then joined the NA team Team Impulse and his USA story began with the move. In LCS, Impact played for TIP, NRG Esports, Cloud9, Team Liquid, and lastly Evil Geniuses. He won many LCS titles and also reached the MSI 2019 Grand Final.
Evil Geniuses are looking to build a different roster for the upcoming season and both parties came to an agreement to part ways. It is rumored that Impact will stay in LCS and sign with another team. EG on the other hand are rumored to sign another South Korean top laner for the upcoming LCS season.
