In the competitive world of CS:GO, the Valve-sponsored Major Championships are the absolute highlight of the calendar. The tournaments that legends are forged from and legacies are built off, 2022’s second Major of the year looks set to be the most exciting one yet. When Is Intel Extreme Masters Rio Major 2022?
The IEM Rio Major begins on Halloween with the first stage of the Challengers Stage. The Challengers will run from the 31st October – 3rd November.
The tournament will then move on to the Legends Stage, which runs from 5th – 8th November.
The final stage of the tournament will see the final teams standing taking to the arena from 10th – 13th November with the Champions Stage.
What Is The Format Of The IEM Rio Major?
As mentioned above, the 2022 RIo Major will be split up into three parts: Challengers, Legends and Champions.
24 Teams will be competing in the tournament, with the winners bagging $500,000 of the $1,250,000 prize pool, as well as spots at IEM Katowice 2023 and the BLAST World Final.

Where Is The Event?
The Rio Major is set to be hosted from the Riocentro via a LAN environment for the Challengers and Legends Stages. The tournament will then move to the 18,768-capacity Jeunesse Arena for the Champions Stage finale.
