Thanos debuted in Fortnite in 2018, as part of the game’s first significant crossover event. Three years later, Thanos is returning to Fortnite with the first-ever Thanos Cup, in which top qualifiers will have the opportunity to unlock the Thanos cosmetic in Fortnite for free ahead of his appearance in the Item Shop.
Thanos Cup Format and Reward
The top-performing teams in each region will earn the Thanos Outfit and Infinity Gauntlet Back Bling with the number of winners varying by region. Points will be awarded on the basis of placement and eliminations scored each match, with a similar format to most tournaments. Earning only eight points will reward players with the Thanos Watches! Spray.
How to enter the Thanos Cup?
To enter, players must ensure that their Epic Account must be at least level 30 with two-factor authentication enabled. Furthermore, you must be 18 or older, and if aged between 13-18, you must seek parental consent. You can find the full rules here.
Time of the Thanos Cup
Although the Thanos Cup is due to start on 21 June, there is no specific start time announced yet, but as per the trend followed by other Cups recently, it is likely to be at 7 PM for each region. The event will last for three hours, and you will be tasked with playing up to ten matches during this time.
If you don’t manage to be one of the top-performing players, you’ll still be able to pick up the Thanos Outfit and Back Bling on June 26 when they make an appearance in the item shop hopefully alongside other marvel items.
