FNCS Season 6: all questions answered
All the anticipation, hype and build-up of FNCS Season 6 led to this weekend, where 33 trios in seven server regions competed for a share of $3M, the Axe of Champions and a guaranteed spot in the FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 7 Finals. From the Qualifiers to the Finals, most matches played out in FNCS season 6 produced thrilling storylines and narratives with some teams showcasing unexpected feats of gameplay, while others falling short of their lofty expectations.
FNCS Season 6 Grand Finals Europe Results:
Winner: LootBoy Queasy44, Glоrious TruleX, Wave Jur3ky – 333 points – $300,000
2nd: Falcon Refsgaard, NVD Endretta, 100T MrSavage – 316 points – $210,000
3rd: Grizi 4zr, GUILD TaySon 7, nayte2199 – 284 points – $135,000
MrSavage, Endretta and Refsgaard had control over the European region from the first day with back-to-back exceptional performances. They were leading the scene until the final three games, when Queasy and his team surged to victory, putting an end to the Norwegian team’s dream of winning the FNCS.
Martin “100T MrSavage” Foss Andersen is without a doubt one of the greatest Fortnite players ever. He had proven himself worthy of being labeled one of the best since the inaugural World Cup in 2019. Furthermore, his victory at DreamHack Anaheim in early 2019 against some of the best players in the world cemented his status as a great talent in the competitive scene. Despite his track record, MrSavage has exhibited a strange trend in FNCS events where he has consistently underperformed falling below expectations – at least until now. After two years of questionable performances in the preceding FNCS series, MrSavage finally redeemed himself by coming second in FNCS season 6.
Queasy, TruleX and Jur3ky won the European FNCS Season 6 to the surprise of many fans in the Fortnite community, especially because this team was the underdog with only a few supporters rooting for them. They took use of their amazing skill to gain a high-ground advantage against the region’s most powerful trios. After outstanding performances — consisting of three Victory Royales and 53 eliminations — in the finals, a three-elimination seventh-place game 12 propelled their team to 333 points overall, 17 more than the second place.
Tai “TaySon” Stari, a GUILD Esports player, resumed his quest of proving his worth in the competition with yet another great performance in Season 6. Having won two FNCS titles in Chapter 2 – Season 3 and Chapter 2 – Season 4, TaySon returned after a rough Season 5 with new French teammates 4zr and nayte and proceeded to play perhaps one of his most consistent seasons. They managed to put up a decent 155 points on day one of the finals, placing them in fourth place with six matches remaining. Continuing their performance on day two, they added 129 points to their total rising them up to third place with a larger share of the prize pool.
FNCS Season 6 Grand Finals NA East Results:
Winner: ENDL8SS DEYYSIA, endless mero11, ENDLESS Reverse – 372 points – $150,000
2nd: TSM Cоmadon, FaZe Cented, NRG Edgey – 361 points – $105,000
3rd: TrainH saffy, Liquid ЅТRETCН, C9 Avery – 303 points – $69,000
While the European scene crowned a pair of first-timers as champions, the NA East area saw three past Axe of Champion holders reclaim their titles. Malachi “ENDL8SS Reverse2k” Greiner, ENDL8SS Mero and ENDL8SS Deyy showed that they are too good for the competition with their surprisingly incredible chemistry. No other team came close to matching their 372 points and 77 eliminations over two days. They finished 21 eliminations ahead of second place and won their second Axe of Champions with no Victory Royale.
For the third time in a row, Cоmadon, Cented, and Edgey finished second in the FNCS. They fell just short of their expectations, despite an outstanding performance. A consistent season came to an unfortunate end with an early elimination in the last match of the FNCS finals. Despite this, Commandment, Cented and Edgey combined for 361 points, which included 55 eliminations and two Victory Royales. When the situation calls for it, each of Cоmadon, Cented, and Edgey has a remarkable ability to bear the pressure and responsibility. But they can always analyze their gameplay for improvement so that they can come back even stronger in Season 7.
Rocco “TrainH Saf” Morales, “Liquid STRETCH” and C9 Avery managed to secure the third overall finish after finishing second in the final match. They were fortunate enough to pull ahead as the following placements were within a 5-point difference of the third-place trio.
FNCS Season 6 Grand Finals NA West Results:
Winner: 100T Arkhram., 100T rehx, NRG EpikWhale4x – 372 points – $75,000
2nd: tsg favs, XTRA kеnshi, XTRA snacky – 348 points – $48,000
3rd: XTRA Caleb, XTRA Tautai, TRNL Wheels – 334 points – $30,000
With 372 points, 56 eliminations, and two Victory Royales in games 11 and 12, Arkhram, EpikWhale, and rehx won the tournament despite a relatively slow start. This victory marked an unprecedented third consecutive major tournament victory for the trio dating back to FNCS Season 4. With this victory, an Axe of Champions, $25K and a free ticket to the Season 7 Finals, they once again proved themselves to be miles ahead of their counterparts.
The second-place finishers (tsg favs, XTRA kеnshi and XTRA snacky) fell 24 points short of dethroning the defending champions, but being in the top three at least guaranteed a spot in the Season 7 finals. XTRA Caleb, XTRA Tautai and TRNL Wheels sat in third place with a decent share of the prize pool awarded to each player and also a spot in the Season 7 finals. While these teams gave it their best, no one came close to giving 100T Arkhram., 100T rehx, NRG EpikWhale4x a run for their money as they managed to defend their throne without breaking a sweat.
