So Riot Games decided to make another controversial decision and release another Mythic Variant skin, after the ‘success’ of Dark Cosmic Erasure Jhin, as they call it.
The skin was controversially priced at around $200 guaranteed by opening 30 Cosmic Erasure 2023 capsules, with a 1% chance to get it for the previous 29 capsules you’d have to open.
Well, Riot Games have just released Breakout True Damage Ekko as their next Mythic Variant skin, and whilst the rewards have changed slightly, the premise has stayed exactly the same – you can get the Mythic Variant skin guaranteed after opening 30 Breakout 2023 Capsules, but what can you get along the way?

What can you get in one of the Breakout 2023 Capsules?
So as we know, you can get Breakout True Damage Ekko from the capsules but here is what else you have a chance at receiving when you open one of the Breakout 2023 Capsules:
- Three Random Skin Shards
- Breakout True Damage Ekko – 1% Chance
- Music Grab Bag – 1%
The Music Grab bag contains any of these three rewards:
- 1 Skin Shard valued at 1350 RP or below
- 2 Skin Shards worth 975 RP or more
- Bonus chance for 2 additional Skin Shards worth 975 RP or more
What are you guaranteed from the Breakout 2023 Capsule Milestone rewards?
So whilst you are on your way to opening 30 Breakout 2023 Capsules in hopes of the 1% chance of getting Breakout True Damage Ekko, there are eight different milestones you can reach and hit, which all offer you guaranteed rewards. These are as follows:
- First Capsule: Exclusive Icon
- 3 Capsules: Exclusive Emote, 5 Mythic Essence
- 5 Capsules: Random 1350 Music skin, 5 Mythic Essence
- 10 Capsules: Random 1350 Music skin, 5 Mythic Essence
- 15 Capsules: Random 1350 Music skin, 15 Mythic Essence

How much are the Breakout 2023 Capsules?
To purchase just one of these Breakout 2023 Capsules, you will have to pay 750RP, meaning you will always technically save yourself money by buying one of these, even if you only get three random skin shards.
To purchase all 30 at once, however, it costs 22,500 RP, which roughly equates to $250 of your hard-earned money!
There are other bundles in between which save you a lot of RP by bulk-buying the Breakout 2023 Capsules, in which you can buy three or you can buy ten.

Are the Breakout 2023 Capsules Worth Buying?
This is a difficult question, because whilst it is a massively shady decision from Riot Games to make a skin which you can only purchase for around $200, you do get your money’s worth if you buy the 200 Breakout 2023 Capsules in one go.
In each Breakout 2023 you get a guaranteed value of $10 minimum for every reward you open, which is the minimum if you get three of the lowest tier skins in a capsule, and this could be increased based on your luck.
In addition to that, you also get the eight milestone rewards, which give you four guaranteed epic skins, two additional Music Grab Bags, and 50 Mythic Essence – plus of course the grand prize of Breakout True Damage Ekko.
This all comes together to be a minimum of around $350 worth of skins, without including the Breakout True Damage Ekko, or the Mythic Essence.
The issue arises of having to spend $200, and risk getting the Ekko skin on one of the first capsules, meaning you will have a lot of capsules spare, that you have to open, with no end goal of the Breakout True Damage Ekko left to get.
