Walls are the best way to stop an enemy from pushing, whether it is from physically blocking them off to prohibiting their vision, an agent with a wall is always welcome on any VALORANT roster!
We know how important these are, but also how important finding the best agent is, so here is every wall ability in VALORANT, so you can figure out what wall you want to use to block off your enemies!
Wall abilities are split into two categories, Barriers and Walls. Barriers block movement of players, and Walls block vision and sometimes more, but are able to be passed through.
Every Barrier Ability in VALORANT
There are actually only two of these abilities in the game, and they are both on Sentinel agents!
Barrier Orb – Sage
This is the one you all thought of, it literally has Barrier in the name! You haven’t played VALORANT if you haven’t experienced a Sage wall in Mid on Split, or blocking off Showers on Bind.
The barrier costs Sage 400 credits at the beginning of each round, making it one of the most expensive abilities in the game, but boy is it worth it!
The wall lasts for 40 seconds, which is almost half a round, and has up to 800hp when fortified! We recommend shooting an enemy Sage wall as soon as it spawns when it only has 400hp for the first 3.3 seconds!
Also, be careful of Sage boosting on top of the wall and gunning you down with a Shorty!
Barrier Mesh – Deadlock
This one also has Barrier in the name, so no surprise here, but the newest agent has the second barrier in the game! It is in the shape of an X, and it is transparent, so you can see through it!
Gunfire still goes through, as do projectile abilities, so be careful standing behind it! Make sure to destroy the orbs at the bottom of it to get through it quickly!
The four outer orbs have up to 680hp, whilst the central orb has 1200hp, unless you destroy these before they fortify – which over halves those health values!
Every Wall Ability in VALORANT
Now onto the actual wall abilities, we have a fair few. These are mainly used to block vision and deter enemies from pushing through them, similar to smokes.
Blaze – Phoenix
This wall is a brief 8-second wall that Phoenix shoots in a line, which he can curve and tailor perfectly, to make sure he and his team can safely get across to the spike site!
Although it heals Phoenix, it damages every other player in the game for 30 damage a second – so don’t stand in it!
Fast Lane – Neon
Neon is the only other Duelist alongside Phoenix to have a wall ability, and hers acts almost like a tunnel!
She fires two walls up either side of her, giving a channel for her team to run down! Be careful as enemies can peek the other end, so we recommend as Neon, darting out of the Fast Lane wall before the end to surprise enemies!
The wall lasts six seconds so act quick to use it!
Cosmic Divide – Astra
This is the only wall ability to be the ultimate ability of an agent, and whilst it is rarely seen due to this, it is one of the best in the game!
Astra can place a global wall across the map, giving her team safe passage! The wall blocks bullets and deafens anyone on the other side, meaning to get intel, you have to push through it!
This awesome ability comes at the price of seven Ultimate Points, and lasts for 21 seconds, so make sure to use it when pushing a site, or holding one!
Toxic Screen – Viper
Viper’s Toxic Screen is another Controller-based wall ability, which she can deploy and put up with her Fuel Passive! The wall covers a long straight line, which can be fired through walls!
You can also see exactly where the wall will go on your minimap before you put it up, so you can easily line it up with getting safely onto the site!
She can put the wall up and down every eight seconds if she wishes, provided she has enough Fuel! It also applies the Toxin debuff to enemies passing through it!

Cascade – Harbor
Harbor is the only agent to have two wall abilities in the game, and Cascade is the first!
Unlike the walls of Phoenix and Viper, Harbor throws this wall forward horizontally and perpendicular to himself. This means he can cover a large amount of ground fast!
This goes through walls and Harbor can stop it any time he wishes. It also slows anyone but Harbor that walks through it – allies and enemies, so be careful pushing through your Harbor’s Cascade!
High Tide – Harbor
Harbor’s second wall ability works a lot like Phoenix and Viper’s, especially as he can send out the wall and curve it as he needs. It is the best of both worlds, as it has this ability from Phoenix’s Blaze, but the length of Viper’s Toxic Screen!
The wall lasts for 15 seconds and slows enemies, similar to Cascade. As his signature ability, he can get the wall back 40 seconds after using it, so don’t avoid using it in fear of wasting High Tide!
