Every Initiator in VALORANT is the kind of agent that will scout out and engage for your team, but contrary to the name of their class, they are not the agents to run onto the site first!
As one of the six Initiators, your role is to use your utility to help your Duelists get onto site, as their role is to go in first and entry! But who is best at doing this? Well this is every Initiator in VALORANT, so you know exactly who to play to aide your inting Duelists!
All of VALORANT’s Initiators
Sova

Two Initiators were released in the Beta of VALORANT, and the first of those is the Russian archer, Sova. Arguably the easiest Initiator in the game, Sova focuses on long-range damage and recon abilities.
His scouting potential can be unmatched with his C, Owl Drone, and his E, Recon Bolt, which are both great at revealing people. The former has Sova control as you can imagine, a drone, that can scout out enemy players, marking them with a dart – but it can be destroyed.

The latter is his signature ability, which can be bounced and fired against walls to scout a massive circle of space, and it will reveal any enemies it sees. We recommend firing this in different places each round as it can be destroyed!
His damaging abilities are his E, Shock Bolt, and his ultimate, Hunter’s Fury. Shock Bolt works exactly like his Recon Bolt, but instead of scanning a zone, it explodes in an AOE sphere of damage that can do up to 75 damage in the center!
Hunter’s Fury gives Sova three huge AOE energy blasts that can channel over six seconds and fire through walls at enemies! This does 80 damage when hitting a target, and reveals them so you can hit them with the next!
Breach

The other agent released in the Beta of VALORANT, the Swedish cyborg, the tallest agent in VALORANT! Breach is great at creating space for his Duelists, whilst also defending a site like a Sentinel! His C, Aftershock is a 2.2s AOE line he can fire through a wall, meaning any enemies lurking in tight corners, such as Mid Window on Haven, will need to move, and quickly!
His kit comes with a blind in the form of his Q, Flashpoint, and similarly to Aftershock, this ability gets fired from behind a wall. It has two charges and it is very hard to react to if you are the enemy, so it is great for pushing!
E, Fault Line, is his signature ability, which once again, goes through a wall (it is a theme with Breach) and Concusses enemies hit in a long line! His ultimate, Rolling Thunder is a larger version of this, except it quickly covers a huge area, rather than one long line!
This knocks enemies back 7m and Concusses them for 6 seconds, meaning a bunch of free kills and a free site for your team!
Skye

Our only agent from down under, Skye is a nature-loving Initiator, and one of the best in the game! Her C, Regrowth, is an AOE heal that she can channel to show her allies some love, but sadly not herself!
Her Q, Trailblazer, summons a Tasmanian Tiger she can control that can leap at enemies and concuss them, a great tool for Duelists to follow onto a site. Her blind is her E, Guiding Light, which she has two of! This allows her to control a bird and explode it, blinding enemies, and best of all, she gets told if her blind hits someone!
Skye’s ultimate, Seekers, throws out three large cabbage-shaped trinkets that hunt down the nearest enemies and Nearsights them for three seconds! These can be killed but they have 150hp, so swing with them for a free kill!
KAY/O

The first agent in VALORANT to delve into the multiverse, KAY/O is from another timeline, sent back to the present to stop the Radianite apocalypse – Arnie would love this guy!
His version of a molotov is his C, FRAG/MENT, which can be thrown and explodes for four seconds in an AOE circle – great for zoning!
The robot’s blind is called Q, FLASH/DRIVE, which works as any other blind does, you throw one of the two you get, and it blinds them! The simplest blind on this list!

E, ZERO/POINT is his signature ability, which allows him to throw a dagger that scouts out enemies at long range, similar to Sova’s Recon Bolt.
This is great for dealing with a Controller sitting in their smoke, as it is not possible to hide in the radius from it – unlike with Sova! It also suppresses enemies hit for 8 seconds too!
KAY/O’s ultimate, NULL/CMD, suppresses enemies constantly for 12 seconds in a huge radius, but the kicker is that when he gets downed, he can be revived for 15 seconds like he’s playing Fortnite or Warzone!
Fade

Fade was released alongside Pearl, and she was actually anti-VALORANT Protocol at the start, but now she’s learned to deal with the team, and her abilities are every bit important, in the lore and in game!
Her C, Prowler, gives her access to two beings, similar to Skye’s Trailblazer, except these ones link to any Terror Trail they see (which are caused by Fade’s other abilities). They nearsight any enemies they hit too!
Q, Seize, is an AOE displacement ability, it drags enemies into the center of the circle, whilst essentially stopping them moving for 4.5 seconds. It also deafens them and decays them for up to 75 damage!
Fade’s signature ability is Haunt. A large eye she can throw to reveal enemies, creating Terror Trails on enemies that it sees. It does have 1hp, so make sure you throw it out of your enemies’ line of sight!
Her Ultimate is similar to Breach’s Rolling Thunder, except this one applies Terror Trails, deafens and decays enemies for 12 seconds! This means your team can sneak onto the site like superspies and the enemies will get ambushed like there is no tomorrow!
Gekko

The newest Initiator in VALORANT, Gekko is the second American we have in the game. Ever wanted to play Pokemon in VALORANT? Well Gekko is the way to do so.
His C, Mosh Pit throws a lovely little guy out, who explodes in an AOE circle, that can one-shot enemies if they stand in it when the explosion comes!

His Q, Wingman, is his most notable ability, which Gekko’s best friend, which concusses enemies open finding them – but can also plant and defuse the spike! This is game-changing, plus you can pick him up and go again!
His Signature ability, Dizzy, is a blind he can throw and pick up, like Wingman, but it locates and blinds enemies hit. The blind is different as it just throws plasma on enemies screens, so they can still see around the edges, but it still does the job!
Gekko’s ultimate, Thrash, is a giant Shark, which is similar to Skye’s Trailblazer, as Gekko controls it, but it detains enemies hit in an AOE circle for 6 seconds! He can also pick it up again and detain more enemies with it!
