ESL DreamLeague Dota 2 is returning back for Season 19, this time with more exciting news!
The Dota 2 league will bring top teams around the world to compete in an online tournament based in Europe.
They will be competing for a $1,000,000 USD prize pool and a chance to qualify for the upcoming Gamers8 Riyadh Masters.
ESL has previously announced Season 1 of the ESL Pro Tour, which is comprised of DreamLeague Season 19 and Season 20.
It will then wrap up with the Gamers8 Riyadh Masters this coming July, which offers a huge sum of prize pool money worth $15,000,000 USD.
The winner of ESL Dota 2 DreamLeague Season 19, together with the winner and runner-up of DreamLeague Season 20, will directly qualify for the prestigious event.

When is the ESL Dota 2 DreamLeague Season 19?
The tournament will be live on April 4 until April 23. It will be divided into three stages – Group Stage 1, Group Stage 2, and Playoffs.

Teams participating in DreamLeague Season 19
Sixteen teams will be competing in the DreamLeague Season 19. The teams are invited using the EPT (ESL Pro Tour) Ranking System. You can check out more about the ranking system over here.

What is the format for the tournament?
The DreamLeague system is designed to serve the Dota 2 community with as many matches as possible. The format will differ slightly for each stage.
Group Stage 1
The first group stage will feature two groups with eight teams each. It will be a single round-robin with best-of-two (Bo2) matches.
The top four teams from each group will then proceed to Group Stage 2.
Group Stage 2
Going forward, the second group stage will have one group with eight teams. The matches will be a best-of-three (Bo3) in a single round-robin.
The top two teams will proceed to the Upper Bracket of the Playoffs.
Meanwhile, the third and fourth teams will proceed to the Lower Bracket of the Playoffs. The rest of the teams will, unfortunately, be eliminated.
Playoffs
The Playoffs will be among the four top teams of the tournament.
It will be a double-elimination bracket with best-of-three (Bo3) matches and a best-of-five (Bo5) Grand Final.
The winner will take home $300,000 USD and qualify for the Gamers8 Riyadh Masters this upcoming July.
