Deep of Night is the new high-difficulty mode in ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN. To unlock it, players must first defeat the Nightlord known as Night Aspect.
Once active, Deep of Night transforms Limveld into a far more dangerous realm. Enemies are stronger, and even more powerful variants appear. These elite foes are marked with a distinct red sheen, signaling the heightened threat.
What Makes Deep of Night Unique?
When starting a Deep of Night expedition, the target Nightlord is hidden until the expedition begins. Any ongoing Shifting Earth states are suspended, forcing players to adapt on the fly. Success requires flexibility, strategy, and mastery of your Nightfarer skills.
New Tools: Depths Relics
Players can earn Depths Relics by completing Deep of Night expeditions. These relics have unique powers and drawbacks not found in standard relics. They can be equipped in three newly unlocked relic slots, offering new ways to build your loadout.
Careful preparation is key. Since the Nightlord target is unknown before the expedition starts, well-rounded relic setups increase your chances of survival.
Enhanced Weapons and Effects
Deep of Night also introduces new weapons. These come with multiple new effects, some beneficial, others potentially harmful. Players must evaluate weapons carefully before looting.

Rating & Depth
In Deep of Night, you can increase your Rating by defeating Nightlords to reach the next Depth. As Depth increases, enemy strength escalates. You may encounter situations where key map points are hidden or where the target Nightlord remains unknown until the final battle. In multiplayer, players of similar Depth are generally matched.
Sometimes, an Everdark Sovereign will appear on the third day, adding even more chaos to the fight.
