EDG have taken LNG Esports down after four games, 3-1, to reach the Lower Bracket Semi Finals of 2022 LPL Summer Season.
Both EDG and LNG Esports had impressive performances before the fourth round of the LPL playoffs. Top Esports and JD Gaming kicked them to the losers’ bracket and in the battle of survival, EDward Gaming were the superior side. The regular season’s fifth seed kicked LNG Esports out of the trophy race and reached the Lower Bracket Semi Finals. The journey has ended for LNG Esports, however, they still have a chance to represent China at Worlds 2022.
EDG LPL 2022 Summer Split Roster
EDward Gaming players have great chemistry as they have been playing together for a while now. The roster grabbed 11 wins during the regular season and saw 5 losses. The playoff grind started from the second round as they took down FunPlus Phoenix with a score of 3-1. Secondly, they won the third round game against Royal Never Give Up and reached the fourth round where they lost to Top Esports.

LNG Esports on the other hand started from the first round and took down Bilibili Gaming, Weibo Gaming, and Victory Five, respectively. In the fourth round, they faced JD Gaming but got swept. Lastly, they got kicked out of the race by EDward Gaming, after a 4-game series.
EDward Gaming are now waiting for their opponent in the Lower Bracket Semi Finals. Top Esports and JD Gaming are going to face each other in the Upper Bracket Semi Finals and the winner of the matchup will clinch a spot at the Grand Final while the loser will be facing EDG. LNG Esports on the other hand still hold a chance to represent China at Worlds as there will be a Last Chance Qualifier for the region.
