Gaming has come a long way and is much more international and universal compared to a few years ago. The space is no longer completely male-dominated as esports organizations continue to sign contracts with female players and content creators.
Tournament organizers ECL and Rush.GG have partnered to create a new 2022 competitive FIFA season for women. The organizers plan to feature some of the best female players and aspiring esports athletes from across the world.

The current FIFA FGS competitive events have a distinct lack of female participants. The aim of the ECL and RUSH.GG partnership is to help even the playing ground. ECL wants to be a driving force in supporting female players and help close the skill gap to their male counterparts.
The mission statement from the announcement indicates: “We are strongly committed to our common goal of eradicating sexism in traditional football and gaming. In competitive gaming, physical fitness is not a determining factor in winning, which means that women can compete side by side with men. Together, RUSH.GG and ECL will aim to raise awareness around the subject with the creation of Her Game Too gaming ambassadors. We are striving to foster an ethos in gaming and esports in which women are welcomed and respected.”
Talent identification plays a major role in this project, as it allows esports organizations to find female players to sign and develop from a skill and commercial aspect. RUSH.GG and ECL will be holding a talent competition to run alongside the events to help uncover female FIFA content creators and streamers.
