EA FC 24 Road to the Knockouts explained
EA FC 24 Road to the Knockouts (RTTK) is a special promotion or event within the popular FIFA video game series created by Electronic Arts (EA Sports). This event is typically associated with FIFA Ultimate Team (FUT), which is a game mode where players can build their dream squads by collecting virtual player cards and competing in various online and offline game modes.
RTTK is designed to add excitement and competitiveness to the game by offering unique player cards and upgrades based on real-life football events, particularly major European club competitions. Here’s a detailed breakdown of what EA FC 24 Road to the Knockouts entails:
- Thematic event: RTTK is a thematic event or promotion that runs for a limited time within the FIFA Ultimate Team mode. It usually occurs during the European football season when major tournaments like the UEFA Champions League, Europa League, Europa Conference League, and Women’s Champions League are in progress.
- Special player cards: The core of RTTK revolves around special player cards that are different from the standard player cards available in the game. These special cards feature unique designs and are typically associated with players who are performing exceptionally well in real-life competitions.
- Player upgrades: What makes RTTK exciting is the potential for player upgrades. These upgrades are tied to the real-world performance of the footballers participating in the aforementioned competitions. The upgrades typically work as follows:
- Winning group stage matches: If a player’s team wins two group stage matches, their RTTK card receives a +1 rating upgrade. This reflects the player’s contribution to their team’s success in the early stages of the competition.
- Qualifying for knockout rounds: When a player’s team qualifies for the knockout rounds of their respective tournament, the player’s RTTK card gets another +1 rating upgrade. This upgrade is a reward for the player’s role in helping their team progress in the competition.
- Potential for up to +2 rating upgrades: Remarkably, a player can earn a total of +2 rating upgrades during the RTTK event if their team achieves both milestones, meaning they could significantly enhance their in-game performance.
- In-Form (IF) upgrades: These upgrades are known as In-Form (IF) upgrades because they reflect the player’s current form and success in the tournament. The better a player’s real-life performance, the better their IF upgrade.
- Inclusion of Women’s Champions League: EA FC 24 Road to the Knockouts added a new dimension by including the Women’s Champions League in its promotions. This means that women’s football has been given the same recognition and excitement as the men’s tournaments within the game.
- Limited-time event: RTTK is typically a limited-time event, and players have a specific window to acquire these special cards and enjoy the upgraded versions in their Ultimate Team squads.
In summary, EA FC 24 Road to the Knockouts is an exciting and engaging event within FIFA Ultimate Team, where players can earn unique and upgraded player cards based on real-world football achievements. It celebrates the best performances in major European club competitions. It adds an extra layer of excitement to the game, encouraging players to follow and support their favorite teams and players in these prestigious tournaments.
