DWG KIA have finalized their LCK 2023 roster after acquiring Canna from Nongshim RedForce and Deft from DRX. Canyon, ShowMaker, and Kellin are the remaining pieces.
DWG KIA have shown a descending performance in the past year. The organization managed to reach the Worlds 2021 Grand Final but then lost track last season. DWG made a bot lane change but that change did not work and things did not go as planned. In order to reach their old-day dominance, DWG KIA have made some roster changes ahead of LCK 2023 season. The organization has announced its roster for the upcoming year featuring Nongshim RedForce’s Canna and the last World Champion Deft from DRX.
DWG KIA LCK 2023 Roster
- Kim “Canna” Chang-dong
- Kim “Canyon” Geon-bu
- Heo “ShowMaker” Su
- Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu
- Kim “Kellin” Hyeong-gyu
The new top laner of the team is Canna. Canna proved himself under the T1 uniform and reached the Worlds 2021 Semifinals. However, he then left the team to join Nongshim RedForce and placed 8th at both splits. Canyon and ShowMaker will remain with the organization. they are two of the most respected players in their own roles and surely an icon for DWG KIA. Deft will join them to fill deokdam’s spot. Deft is one of the most experienced players in the region and he also won the World 2022 trophy recently. According to the ADC, Canyon called him to join DWG KIA and unite under the organization’s roof. Kellin will remain with the team and support Deft in the bot lane.
DWG KIA had parted ways with Nuguri at the beginning of the year but then they decided to recruit him back. However, things did not work for the team, and DWG KIA bid farewell to Worlds 2022 in the quarterfinals. The roster looks solid on paper so we might witness their dominance once again in the region. This time, their opponents look even tougher though!
