In the most awaited match of Worlds 2022 Play-ins day one, DRX took down RNG and secured a huge advantage in Group B.
Worlds 2022 kicked off with the first day of playins. Even though the team level in the main event is far better than playins, there are still important representatives in the stage. Two of them are RNG and DRX. The LPL and LCK representatives competed against each other in the closing match of Worlds 2022 Playins Day 1 and DRX grabbed the win. The LCK representatives made a great start to the tournament and secured a huge advantage for the leadership.
DRX Roster
- Hwang “Kingen” Seong-hoon
- Hong “Pyosik” Chang-hyeon
- Kim “Zeka” Geon-woo
- Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu
- Cho “BeryL” Geon-hee
LCK teams are more patient in terms of macro and game plans in general. However, LPL teams are completely the opposite as they are more into team fights and skirmishes. Yesterday, DRX managed to make Royal Never Give Up accept the patient game flow. Royal Never Give Up took control of the top side but in the mean time DRX took control of the game. They let Kingen by himself and even though he gave 4 kills in 20 minutes, DRX still came up on top thanks to Deft’s Tristana. The famous ADC had a great performance throughout the game. He was the main factor of DRX’s early domination. The competition was very tough but in the end, DRX took the win after 43 minutes. The closing of the day was very well entertaining.
RNG Roster
- Chen “Breathe” Chen
- Yan “Wei” Yang-Wei
- Li “Xiaohu” Yuan-Hao
- Chen “GALA” Wei
- Shi “Ming” Sen-Ming
The LCK team now holds a huge advantage in their hands. It was expected that the Group B leader would be either DRX or RNG and the Koreans secured the lead in the duel. The leader of each group will automatically qualify for the Worlds 2022 Main Event Group Stage and the second team will compete in the elimination stage of the playins.
