The defending World Champions DRX have lost both of their LCK 2023 Spring Season Week 1 games against Dplus KIA and Gen.G.
DRX surprised everyone last year with an impressive performance at Worlds 2022. However, the organization failed to keep its roster together and except for BeryL, all the players joined other organizations. After the disbandment of the roster, DRX signed new players but failed in their first two tests. DRX made an awful start to the LCK 2023 Spring Season and lost two games against Dplus KIA and Gen.G. The organization will play more games in the upcoming days as the second week of the action has started recently.
Last year, Kingen, Pyosik, Zeka, Deft, and BeryL formed the DRX roster. They managed to qualify for Worlds 2022 despite not reaching any higher seeds in the playoffs. DRX made their way up to the top by starting from the play-ins. The players had impressive performances and reached the playoffs after beating many tough opponents. The fairytale ended happily with DRX lifting the trophy of Worlds 2022. However, they failed to keep their pace up in 2023.
The new DRX roster consists of Rascal, Croco, FATE, deokdam, and BeryL. This new lineup failed to impress the fans in the first week of the LCK 2023 Spring Season. DRX first got demolished by Dplus KIA and then Gen.G. Their ex-player Deft had a great performance, and currently plays for Dplus KIA. Chovy and Peyz were the heroes of the Gen.G match.
Of course, the league still goes on and DRX will play against Nongshim RedForce and Kwangdong Freecs. Both opponents are a lot weaker compared to DK and Gen.G. Funnily, both NS and KF are the other teams without a single win in the league. However, both teams played three games while DRX only had two matches so far in the LCK 2023 Spring Season.
